Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfill our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses by connecting people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services, experiences and goods. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success.

The Getaways Market Manager team is key to ensuring merchants in North America are provided with an exceptional experience during the onboarding process and for the duration of their campaign.  As the manager of this team, you get the opportunity to lead an enthusiastic, clever and passionate group of Market Managers excited to drive excellence in merchant support and leading business initiatives.  This position works closely with leadership and managers across the vertical to execute team goals.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of ownership and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

As the Manager of our the Getaways Market Management team, you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of Market Managers to achieve results by ensuring quality, productivity, retention and professional growth.

  • Understand key market demand periods, know destination trends and plan courses of action required to meet business initiatives.

  • Develop and implement solutions to the team in order to drive performance, optimize processes and reduce merchant friction.

  • Recruit, develop, train and retain top talent by creating a productive and positive environment for the team.

  • Conduct regular supplier performance and quality evaluations to ensure the team is providing first-class service.

  • Partner with key cross-functional team members to drive key business initiatives.

  • Address merchant escalations in a prompt and professional manner.

  • Participate and help guide product feature development, engage in SWOT analysis to ensure product performance is not impacted and help troubleshoot supplier system issues

  • Liaise with Product to create awareness of needs, issues and product performance

We’re excited about you if you meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 3 years sales, account or revenue management experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of management experience

  • Be a self-starter who can execute in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction

  • Work collaboratively in an environment that promotes constant team communication

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to present your ideas vision, and your plans to everyone and anyone

  • You have strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills

  • You can call the shots and enjoy leading changes

  • High level negotiation skills

  • Strong analytical skills required; working knowledge of hotel revenue or inventory management preferred

  • Working knowledge of SQL preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a multi-tasked, fast paced environment

  • Strong organizational as well as written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to establish effective relationships with all levels of management

  • Professional, "get it done" attitude and work ethic
