Manager, IT Delivery Strategy &Transformation

Responsibilities
The IT Delivery Strategy and Transformation Manager will focus on standardization and optimization to enable delivery excellence across all Service Lines for technology projects. This role will be responsible for driving Agile transformation in our Global IT PMO from design to implementation to increase overall IT productivity, meet internal and external customer requirements, and ultimately help meet the company’s strategic objectives. This will involve partnering with other departmental PMOs, developing a PM Community of Practice, and ensuring a training curriculum is in place to support the Global IT PMO strategy. Additional responsibilities:
- Define and author project management best practices and standards that will improve productivity and investment decision making, and realize targeted business outcomes that support both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- Provide thought leadership in Agile ways of working through innovation and methodology improvements
- Define and author best practices for Agile project management, including backlog management, sprint process, user-story development, and product reporting
- Define and ensure use of standard methodologies, processes, PPM tools, and reporting metrics (KPIs) in partnership with Service Line PMOs and IT Leadership
- Ensure that training curriculums support the PMO strategy
- Build a community of practice for the Program/Project Management function across the HAVI organization
- Manage transformation efforts led by the Global IT Governance and PMO team such as rolling out a standardized PM competency matrix
- Perform or oversee reviews of Programs and Projects to ensure standard best practices are being utilized and provide recommendations and/or coaching as necessary based upon review results
- Occasional travel may be required (<15%)
Desired Skills & Experience
Extensive experience in program, project, and portfolio management. In addition to traditional waterfall knowledge, looking for knowledge and experience in various Agile methods and practices (Scrum, Lean, XP, RAD etc.)
Extensive experience with delivery methodologies and tools including Hands-on knowledge and experience in more than one Agile tool (such as Rally, Version One, JIRA-Agile) for managing backlog, sprints, tasks, scrum boards, Kanban boards, defects, and reporting
Experience coaching others in Agile concepts and practices
Program manager experience or people manager experience (with direct reports)
Experience driving change management initiatives across an organization
Strong influence management skills; ability to work cooperatively at all levels in a matrix environment to build and maintain the positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal/team effectiveness
Exceptional analytical, strategic, planning, organization, and time management skills to effectively execute project plans and budgets
Clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of cross- functional project teams and functional management
Business acumen; ability to think from an overall “best for the business” perspective
Demonstrates initiative; results oriented
Excellent decision making skills – ability to negotiate and balance decisions and manage competing priorities across multiple areas
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or related field
- Experience in scaled agile principles and practices
- Practical understanding, experience, and knowledge of DevOps capabilities such as Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD), Automated Testing, etc.
- Industry recognized certifications related to Agile such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or Certified Scrum Coach (CSC)
- Project Management Certification (PMI PMP or PGMP, Prince 2)
- Experience implementing initiatives through effective influence management skills at multiple levels in the organization
- Excellent facilitation and issue resolution skills
- Previous experience operating in a matrix organization
- Experience managing global initiatives
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively to determine and develop approaches to solutions with very little to no supervision or direction
- Experience with PPM Tools, MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
