Primary Responsibilities

The Manager, Supplier Optimization’s primary objective will be to serve the Supplier Optimization team as the team’s subject matter expert on the freight review process and support the team’s continued growth and effectiveness. A successful Manager, Supplier Optimization will be excited about enhancing current processes and tools, being the point person for training and documentation, and will lead a group of analysts focused on freight support while still supporting the team’s core mission of cost evaluation and operational optimization. The Manager, Supplier Optimization will work closely with suppliers, brokers, and KeHE stakeholders, including Supplier Development, Supply Chain, Transportation, Pricing, Finance, and other departments as needed. Essential Functions

  • Provide support for the on-boarding and training of new employees
  • Lead a team of Supplier Analysts responsible for educating & on-boarding new suppliers
  • Oversee KeHE’s offshore traffic team as they keep suppliers’ delivery methods and address information up to date
  • Deliver guidance to Supplier Analysts on standard operating procedure
  • Aid the ongoing process improvements within the team through development of documents and enhanced analytical tools
  • Utilize tools like Power BI, COGNOS, & Excel to combine (VLOOKUP) and manipulate (PIVOT TABLE) data into formats suitable for analysis and business recommendations.
  • Apply a strong knowledge of KeHE’s end-to-end processes to determine practical viability of optimization opportunities
  • Ensure that proposed changes to business occur accurately and in a timely fashion by setting milestone with stakeholders and coordinating execution efforts
  • Identify, on-board, and develop talent
  • Ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced business environment. Capacity to learn and process quickly.
  • Other responsibilities as directed

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or analytics preferred.
  • Previous experience with comprehensive freight/pricing/operations review required.
  • Talent in synthesizing data and communicating effectively both orally and in writing with people at all organization levels
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Cognos, SQL, or other relational databases and BI products required; developer experience a plus
  • Ability to think critically and independently, with a strong attention to fine details
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively as part of a team
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including: Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and Power Point
