DESCRIPTION
Position Overview:
The Merchandising Assistant is a unique entry-level role within our Business Development/Merchandising team, which sources and selects products for our subscription boxes and eCommerce shop. The Assistant will be involved in supporting the end-to-end merchandising process, but also will be expected to work on high-impact strategic projects.
What you will do:
- Support the product purchasing and box finalization process, including:
- Creating purchase orders and confirming with manufacturing partners
- Ensuring on-time product delivery
- Creating in-box experience materials
- Communicating with partners to respond to questions or concerns
- Managing the samples and imaging process
- Onboarding new partners
- Manage inventory to expand ecommerce sales
- Optimize inventory turns using quantitative and qualitative data
- Create opportunities for excess inventory
- Maintain accurate product details within our Product Information Management system
- Assist the Business Development team with other strategic initiatives

REQUIREMENTS
What experience you need:
- Knowledge of fishing tackle required.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail while balancing multiple priorities
- Experience with analyzing data
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Excellent listening, verbal, written and communication skills
- Experience in ecommerce and fishing a plus
- Ability to adapt to different working and communication styles
- Ability to make progress independently
- Drive to proactively improve processes and performance
- Persistence in following through with initiatives
