Relish Works, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager to support a new Innovation Hub.

Who We Are

We are Relish Works, an innovation hub focused on challenging the status quo and pioneering the next evolution of the food industry. While backed with the support of an established and profitable food service organization, Relish Works operates as an independent start-up focused on user-centered solutions. Our efforts explore improvements to the established company’s core business as well as solving for unmet customer needs, re-deploying assets and infrastructure, and developing new businesses.

Work You’ll Do

As the Operations Manager, you will support the Operations Lead as the point of contact for all operational aspects of the innovation hub. This includes supporting and owning aspects of budget, strategic planning, human resources, and many other operational aspects of running the business. Ultimately you are responsible to help ensure that all parts of the innovation hub come together to run like a well-oiled machine. Responsibilities include:

  • Manages business operations on a day-to-day basis
  • Supports budget management, allocation, and forecasting needs
  • Manages finance, HR, and administration at scale
  • Manages strategic matters, such as growth planning
  • Assists Operations Lead in building and inspiring talent experience and culture
  • Develops structures and processes required to support and foster an innovative culture
  • Continually assesses innovation talent needs to adjust / build on talent acquisition and retention strategy, including identifying new talent sources and programs (e.g., schools)
  • Executes and improves HR practices, including designing and implementing rotations, managing performance metrics, and adapting incentives
  • Coordinates innovation events and on-going innovation programming
  • Develops relationships with key operational contacts, both internal and external
  • Provides additional support for projects, works closely with others as a team player
  • Supports management of deliverables to leadership team, anticipates needs, initiates actions, and provides any necessary reporting and information
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree), or equivalent experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience
  • Core Skills to Include:
    • Knowledge of, and preferably experience with, multiple business functions such as HR, finance, operations, and project management
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, willing to foster team members’ professional development and cultivate future leaders
    • Ability to initiate action with a drive to achieve success (e.g., achievement orientation, initiating action, energy, self-confidence)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Able to work in a multidisciplinary team through undefined, complex situations with fast-changing demands and inputs
    • Willing to take on a variety of roles and responsibilities as required – everyone is a team player
    • Uses personal management skills to effectively complete tasks necessary to the success of the organization in an orderly manner, organizing details and bringing order to complex and competing demands
    • Ensures utmost confidentiality at all times
  • Minimal travel may be required
