Announced in May 2018, Peapod Digital Labs is an Ahold Delhaize USA company that will serve as the engine that powers U.S. ecommerce and digital strategies. Peapod Digital Labs will accelerate growth in digital and personalization capabilities for the great local brands of Ahold Delhaize USA and will serve as the innovation lab for the U.S. portfolio of companies, driving digital and eCommerce innovation, technology and experience to meet the changing needs of customers of Ahold Delhaize USA’s local brands, regardless of when, where and how consumers choose to shop. Peapod continues to be a consumer-facing eCommerce brand, and is part of Peapod Digital Labs, focused on growing Peapod sales to consumers. 

Recipe for Success - What's “in store” for the role:

• Supporting the Director of Logistics and Transportation Planning in a multitude of different tasks from daily routing, planning changes, operational issue migration, capacity adjustments and analysis.
• Leading daily routing sessions to ensure that route files are produced in a timely manner for Fulfillment and Transportation Operations.
• Maintaining solid technical knowledge with ability to interact with IT, Windows Team, DBA’s and others in order to solve technical issues rapidly.
• Running transportion planning simulations in order to test and improve Peapod's transportation KPI's to reduce cost.
• Provide support, along with Mgr. of Logistics & Transportation Planning, for entire central transportation planning, execution and vehicle tracking system.
• Proposing and implementing changes to logistics network and service area maps for Peapod's customer service model and delivery area design.
• Producing and distributing regular transportation reports for transportation operators and management as well as ad hoc requests.
• Working with market operators to determine schedules and volumes for cross-docks, trailers, holidays, etc.
• Assisting Mgr. of Logistics & Transportation Planning in development of department staffing schedule for Logistics Coordinators.
• Occasionally training Drivers, Supervisors, Dispatchers, etc. on new systems, procedures or tools in various facilities.

Extra Spices - What you should bring to the table  

• Bachelor's degree, Masters preferred
• Hands-on knowledge of store/e-commerce fulfillment processes and systems, and an understanding of “the day in the life of…”
• Experience in a customer-facing business environment
