The Transition manager provides support for on-going projects that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and other 'system' software. Also, the Maintenance and debugging of systems software. Coordination and the IOGEN work for new MF hardware. Research and evaluation of new software and hardware products, assisting team members and other areas with technical questions and problem resolution. Monitoring and tuning of systems software. Functional knowledge, use of z/OS components and detailed knowledge of support products such as tape management, scheduling, security, monitoring systems, etc.

Minimum Requirements

• 5 years experience working within a z/OS or IBMi environment. 
• Familiarity with mainframe functional areas such as z/OS Operating System, Storage, Databases, CICS, and Disaster Recovery concepts. 
• Ability to host meetings and conference calls. 
• Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel to a level of creating documents which can be shared with clients.    

Additional Requirements
Occasional travel to client sites will be required.  Successful candidate will attend meetings to review proposed solutions prior to solutions being presented to clients.  Attending sales calls either by phone or in person to assist in the sales process will be common.  Will serve as escalation point during client migrations to find solutions for identified blockers. 

Job Description

• The Transition Manager will lead transitions of services for IBMi and Mainframe from clients in-house IT into Ensino’s support. 
• The Transition Manager works as a liaison to the client during the transition and aligns Ensono resources with the clients own IT staff.  While not a technical position, the Transition Manager will understand the functional areas well enough to involve the appropriate resources as needed to ensure a successful migration.  Running large scale meetings for technical teams to exchange information and discuss solutions will be a daily occurrence for this position. 
• As discrepancies are uncovered during the migration, the Transition Manager will determine if these are in-scope or if the client needs to be engaged to solution.  The Transition Manager will report status to a Project Manager who is responsible for keeping the entire project on task. 
• The Transition Manager is not responsible for network, security, ITSM, and other aspects of Esnono’s support but rather limited to the IBMi and Mainframe systems support.
