Director, IT Infrastructure
How you'll make an impact:The Director, IT Infrastructure will work inside Strata's Information Technology group and lead all aspects of our public (AWS) and private cloud environments. We are looking for a candidate with a track record of providing strategic, forward-looking vision. You will lead a team of engineers and architects responsible for the infrastructure that enables our customers to utilize StrataJazz® a single, modular, cloud-based platform that helps healthcare providers better plan, analyze and perform, driving margin to fuel their clinical mission. StrataJazz serves hospitals and healthcare delivery systems, radically simplifying the financial side of the house for healthcare providers.
- Provide product ownership, prioritization, and decision making for the team that designs and architects our large-scale computing platforms spanning public cloud (AWS), private cloud, and datacenter-based services
- Ensure our infrastructure meets security, availability, responsiveness, scalability, and cost objectives
- Infuse infrastructure as code and automation first thinking throughout the team using tools like Terraform and Ansible
- Proactively engage and partner with internal customers and other teams to build consensus and prevent problems before they happen; act as an escalation point of contact, when required, to support timely service delivery
- Ensure the production environment is operating in accordance with established procedures, standards, and best practices. Create those standards and procedures in places where they do not exist yet
- Directs the architecture, deployment, monitoring, management, and maintenance of our cloud environments to include but not limited to servers, VMware, storage, backup, and cloud platforms
- Forecast system demands and recommend upgrades, expansions, and reconfigurations to meet business needs
- Responsible for financial/budget management, and forecasts for software, hardware and cost control with AWS savings plans and reserved instances
- Drives the development, coaching, and training of team members by setting goals and objectives, implementing career paths to performance, and succession planning
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of IT work experience
- Minimum 12+ years of applied IT experience with a concentration in IT Infrastructure and public cloud.
- A process-oriented individual, with strong project management skills, who has the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
- Familiarity with the DevOps model and services such as EKS, CI/CD pipeline, and orchestration while working in an Agile environment
- Experience working in a regulated industry with a focus on HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 2001, SOC, etc.
- Extensive experience translating business requirements into business solutions at the enterprise level.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate complex technical issues to users with little technical background/expertise
