Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our Chicago team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical abilities across the IT operations stack (systems, hardware, networking, middleware, database and applications). Technical leadership and ability to handle high-pressure situations is a must as you will be called upon to troubleshoot and remediate production impacting incidents in real time.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and manage scalable AWS cloud environments
• Identify areas in need of automation to make day-to-day operations more streamlined and efficient
• Manage and maintain globally deployed data centers
• Work closely with Engineering to ensure seamless transition of software from development to production

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in object-oriented scripting using Python and PowerShell
• Ruby and Perl experience also a plus
• Familiarity with networking concepts such as VPN, Multicast, Routing Protocols, etc.
• Understanding of continuous integration development with Git, Jenkins and Chef
• Proficiency with CentOS Linux and Windows Servers (2003, 2008 and 2012)
• Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, UDP, LDAP, SSH
• Troubleshooting experience tracking down performance, load, networking, I/O utilization and memory problems
