Job Description
Looking for a Senior Information Security Analyst / Lead Security Control Assessor to conduct assessments of the security and privacy controls implemented by an information system to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls and the vulnerability state of components, applications and databases residing within the system boundary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Control effectiveness refers to the extent to which the controls are implemented correctly, operating as intended, and producing the desired outcome with respect to meeting the security requirements for the system.
- Documents the assessment results.
- May perform analysis of information system security controls, information systems and applications for weaknesses and documents recommends addressing security measures to protect information against loss of confidentiality, integrity and/or availability.
- May lead and direct the work of others associated with the assessment team.
- Typically reports to a project leader or manager.
- Possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Six (6) years of experience conducting and documenting security controls assessments to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls and assessing the vulnerability state of components, applications and databases following NIST Special Publications.
- Three (3) years of experience assessing resources residing with commercial cloud environments.
- Two (2) years of experience using automated vulnerability scanning and penetration assessment tools.
- Possess familiarity with a variety of the IT technologies, architecture, concepts, best practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in handling multiple tasks concurrently.
- Proficiency in project and time management.
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities.
- Ability to work in a cohesive team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in proofreading deliverables for clear, concise language, completeness, correctness, and consistency.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related cyber/cyber security field.
Certifications:
- The following certifications (more than one is required): CISSP, CEH, CISA, GSNA or similar certification.
- The following certifications (more than one is preferred): Lunarline, Inc. School of Cybersecurity “Certified Expert” certifications.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related cyber/cyber security field.
