Dynamics of the Role
This position triages incidents for UNIX/Linux, Windows, VMWare, and Data Center. The position will support the Data Center environment including cabling, and equipment installations. The candidate will also perform incident management functions.
How You’ll Contribute
· Perform initial troubleshooting techniques with UNIX/Linux, Windows and VMWare Operating Systems to provide optimum performance and system availability, in an attempt to resolve incidents; escalate issues using official escalation procedures when appropriate
· Own incidents and request while driving them through to resolution by acting Incident Manager of Bridge Calls and ensure internal management is notified using official communications procedures
· Cabling installation of network, server, and storage patching for new systems, and vendor installations
What You’ll Bring
· 1 to 3 years’ experience/knowledge as admin of Linux/Unix, Windows, Open Systems, and VMWare virtualized environments, switches, Networking Skills, SAN storage & RDBMS administration
· Basic Knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Clustering Technology, UCS hardware, SCCM, and SCOM
· Working knowledge of Command Line Interface and fundamentals of Linux scripting languages, and configuration management tools
· Experience with Incident and Change Management
· Able to work days/nights/weekends/holidays if needed or required
