Job Description
The Windows System Administrator ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of Applied Technology’s information systems that support core organizational functions.This experienced role will be responsible for the design and implementation of Windows servers/desktops, domains, and enterprise solutions. Applicants should have a strong background in installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise based storage solutions with Windows based systems This person will be responsible for supporting internal engineering teams and working with external solution partners to develop and maintain solutions that relate to business needs. To effectively perform these duties with Applied Technology you will be expected to conform to existing IT process methodologies and best practices.
Desired Skills
Strong background in installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise based Windows systems and enterprise solutions. This role will be the Windows Administrator in charge of Windows enterprise systems in a multi network environment
Experience managing Windows Server OS and domain architecture including, but not limited to, Active Directory, Exchange management, GPOs, Policies, and permissions
Strong Experience with scripting languages needed for day-to-day management of systems (Powershell, Batch, VB). The ability to automate day to day tasks through scripting is required
Ability to perform regular system maintenance to maintain smooth operation of computer/server systems, including coordination with other system engineers, management, and end users. Ensure necessary administration tasks are completed; direct others as necessary.
Ability to make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, and system components.
Ability to Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.
Ability to learn and architect new technologies into existing infrastructure as they are introduced
Ability to proactively provide written documentation to system process and designs
Ability to maintain security audit and logging information on all networks and standalone computers as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager / Officer (ISSM/ISSO).

Symantec Endpoint Protection or other enterprise antivirus software
Tenable Nessus
Engineering Tool License Administrations (FLEXLM)
Enterprise Backup systems (Commvault / NetBackup / Veeam)
Basic Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract. Some contracts may have higher-level clearance requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related studies.
3+ years of hands on experience in a Windows Desktop/Server environment (Windows 7, 10, 2008R2, 2012 2016, 2019)
3+ years managing a Microsoft Active Directory Domain
3+ years hands on experience with Microsoft Exchange 2013/2016
Knowledge of SAN Storage systems
Knowledge of authentication protocols and techniques (LDAPS/SAML/Kerberos/etc)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Highly disciplined person with very good troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines with a can-do attitude
Ability to interface with customers and internal teams effectively
Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
