In this Principal Product Manager role, you will lead the Atlassian Design System offering. Atlassian Design System is a collection of principles, methodologies, and tools for content, design, and front-end code. These visual and conceptual standards form a language that empowers teams to craft harmonious Atlassian experiences.You will inspire and lead the teams in the Design System group, define the vision & strategy, analyse customer needs, and prioritise features and improvements. You will partner with engineering and design to form a leadership triad. Your mission will be to make a world-class design system.If you tick a couple of the below boxes, great ! What you'll do

  • Transform the Atlassian Design System vision into a product strategy and execution roadmap, supporting both internal and external developers and designers
  • Set and achieve key performance metrics and OKRs that define a successful design system
  • Evangelise and advocate for the Atlassian Design System to enable consistent experiences, reuse and efficient design and development across Atlassian & External developers and designers
  • Stay informed of the latest design systems thinking, engaging with the wider community and bringing valuable findings back to the team


Your Background

  • 10+ years of product management experience with previous experience leading a Design System
  • A track record for defining and executing Platform strategies that create business and customer value
  • Ability to quantitatively and qualitatively understand complex problems, prioritize business and customer needs
  • Experience with geographically distributed teams
  • Excel in an environment where the topics and tasks are varied and you have to move quickly and learn fast
  • A passion for raising the product craft bar and driving best practices throughout the company


Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $190,400 - $253,800
Zone B: $171,400 - $228,500
Zone C: $158,000 - $210,700
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
