The Role
We are looking for an Associate Product Manager to join the Central Technology Product Development team in support of Morningstar's Enterprise Content Management System. This position is based out of our Chicago office. The Associate Product Manager would work closely with the Senior Product Manager and is expected to play a pivotal role in executing the Central Technology product roadmap. Active coordination will be required with Engineering, QA, Program Manager, Project Managers, and the Product Manager & other roles.
Job Responsibilities
- Report to senior product manager and collaborate with the product development team and business stakeholders to help set short-term, medium-term & strategic priorities for Morningstar's Enterprise Content Management System product offering.
- Manage program documentation repository and assist with presentations on program updates.
- Analyze consumer behavior and industry trends to determine ways to enhance the enterprise product offering.
- Track and report key performance metrics.
- Work with key stakeholders to help define and write requirements and user stories for new product features.
- Develop strong working relationships with Morningstar's suite of products.
- Work on complex tasks, projects or issues that involve a high degree of risk and impact business unit efficiency.
- Identify and understand how applications and systems interact to support business processes.
- Review product analytics and user insights through feedback loops to help improve product quality and product development.
- Assist with regular vendor communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of business analysis and/or product management experience.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and planning skills
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality work
- Having a go-getter attitude, being self-directed, detail-orientated & possessing good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to create structure from ambiguous situations.
- Working Agile experience - Scrum methodology, JIRA or equivalent story writing tool. Product backlog, sprint backlog, story estimation and prioritization, creation of user stories, acceptance criteria.
- Strong people skills to support collaboration across functions and organizations.
- Experience working with Content Management Systems and/or SaaS products is a plus.
- Experience in financial services is a plus.
