Product Manager

This is a full-time role in Chicago, IL (Remote available)

We build easy-to-use tools for businesses that empower them to more easily succeed as well as weave rich connections with their customers. SpotOn’s platform offers rewards, deals, online reviews, and data analytics in conjunction with cutting edge POS systems and payment applications. Tools like these were previously only available to big businesses with big bankrolls and their own developers, but our platform caters to neighborhood stores, independent retailers, and small to mid-sized chains.

This role will be responsible for owning the labor management and payroll reporting product for our restaurant merchants. This is an incredibly important area to ensure our clients are paying their employees properly and that SpotOn is providing the tools they need to do this effectively. This role will set the strategy for the development of our Labor/Payroll reporting and work to ship quality software that delights our clients. Labor is one of the two major pillars that make up our reporting alongside sales. The role reports into the Senior Product Manager for Restaurant Reporting.

Day to Day Activities:

• Responsible for the product vision, strategy and associated technical development of our in-house labor / payroll reporting tools as well as any future labor reporting integrations that form part of the product offering
• Interview customers, internal sales / support to gather requirements and understand priorities for development - Work with design, development teams, QA and marketing to ensure quality software is built that surpasses client expectations
• Be a subject matter expert in labor / payroll for restaurants and keep up with trends, client expectations and changes in state / federal labor laws and regulation
• Ensuring the smooth running of our existing labor and payroll tools and reports, triaging bugs and providing help and support when escalated from sales / support teams

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of product management experience or equivalent
• Experience delivering complex powerful products that are made simple for users
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development and writing user stories
• An analytical and metrics driven work style that leverages data to make informed decisions
• Experience working closely and collaboratively with engineering teams
• An ability to manage multiple teams and multiple projects in an iterative process
• Strong presentation skills to senior stakeholders and also direct to customers
• Brought to market mobile and web apps and have deep knowledge of the payments ecosystem and the products within it.

• Experience working with SQL
• Background in Payroll / Labor (not necessarily within restaurants)
