As a Product Manager of Platform Capabilities, you will help define, evolve, and advance Intelsat Inflight's software architecture and enhance our position in the marketplace. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value for airlines and strengthen our partnerships with aerospace OEMs and third parties.
The Product Manager acts within an Agile framework to own key elements of the airborne software architectural roadmap that aligns with Intelsat's overall strategic vision. The successful candidate should be comfortable with close oversight over one or more Agile development teams in a Product Ownership role managing the Team Backlog to iteratively deliver software and maximize the value of the products created by the team. In the Product Owner role, you will serve as the voice of the customer to the team, groom features, define stories, prioritize work across sprints, and articulate progress and outcomes to a wide stakeholder group including senior leadership.
Through the Agile / SAFe methodology, you will collaborate closely with other Product Managers, Product Owners, Account Management, UX Designers, Finance, Software Development, Systems Engineering/Architecture, Quality Assurance, Dev Operations, Network Operations, and other key stakeholders.

Can you drive these processes?
Define and drive the evolution of Intelsat's commercial aviation airborne software. Serving as a subject-matter expert for internal and external stakeholder questions and opportunities. Participate in Lean Product Management and Agile rituals including leading an Agile team as required to continuously improve our offering.
You should have:

• Four-year college degree in Business, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3+ years Product Management and/or Product Ownership or Systems Engineering or Systems Architecture role
• Understanding of technology and business with some experience launching software or service in partnership with engineering team
• Demonstrated ability or experience defining requirements in structured frameworks
• Structured work ethic and excellent organizational skills including ability to leverage strategy and collaboration tools like Jira, Miro, JAMA, Kanban boards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable presenting technical concepts and demos to large groups.
• Strong decision making, problem solving and analytical skills along with flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to own cross-functional initiatives from conception to execution leading stakeholder groups and Agile teams.

It would be nice if you had:

• Experience or exposure to airline industry or high availability enterprise level software especially Inflight Connectivity and Entertainment (IFEC) or telecommunications.
• Experience in leading or doing software development.
• Demonstrated experience with end-to-end product roadmap ownership and delivery.
• Exposure (academic or experiential) to software development / product management tactics such as Behavior Driven Development, Test Driven Development, and Product Needs Analysis.
• Formal training or certifications in Lean Product Management and/or Agile practices such as SAFe for Teams or Leading SAFe.
