Job Responsibilities
This new Climate Solutions team is seeking a Senior Product Operations Manager to manage and oversee product operations for our carbon/climate product suite. You will join a dynamic and strategically important team (for both Sustainalytics and Morningstar) and contribute to the development and implementation of carbon/climate products. The product operations team is responsible for implementation and maintenance of our product suite and oversees the design, automation, and delivery of research and data to our clients via our proprietary client systems, API, and data feeds. The product operations team collaborates closely with our research, product management, and IT teams to bring product features to life.
The ideal candidate will have 8 plus years of experience in product operations and / or product development in a financial services industry. The Senior Product Operations Manager will champion the implementation, product enhancement, and feature releases of our products. The role includes leadership and reporting up, recruitment, team building, people management, and cross-functional collaboration.
This multifaceted role requires someone who excels in a dynamic environment, is a creative problem solver, and is a team player. The ideal candidate is experienced in research or financial product development in the financial services industry, and in the application of ESG and carbon/climate risk research in investment processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as our carbon/climate product, systems, and process expert and own product operations and development processes.
• Act as an extension of Product Managers to oversee the implementation of the product roadmap and maintenance of product processes.
• Be responsible for product quality and ensure product design, systems, and research produce high quality output.
• Work closely and collaboratively with product managers, research, and IT teams to translate product features into clear requirements for implementation by these teams, and to bring features to market.
• Lead strategic projects to enhance and improve current products, quality, systems, and features.
• Build and manage a high-performing team of 3-4 product operations associates.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in related discipline (business, economics, or finance) or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience.
• Roughly 8 years of prior work experience in product operations. If in financial services industry, this would be a key asset.
• Strong operational management, stakeholder/partner management, and execution skills.
• Must have leadership and team management experience.
• Must have strong communication and presentation skills (both in spoken and written formats), e.g. to develop strategic plans, create ppts.
• A genuine team player who can achieve objectives through close collaboration and coordination with others.
