JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Cat Foresight team within Cat Digital is focused on delivering an innovative application for dealers and Caterpillar users that enables Customer Value Agreements (CVAs) and condition monitoring services.

The Cat Foresight Product Owner works as a member of the Product Management team to help maximize the value of the condition monitoring capabilities of the product and the work of the development teams. The Product Owner works closely with the Product Manager, business partners and development teams. The Product Owner’s primary task is to create and manage the Product Backlog and to ensure everyone knows the priorities of the Product Backlog. The Product Owner is empowered to make all decisions regarding the Product Backlog. The Product Owner is typically the individual closest to the business side of the project.

Job Duties:

• Represent the business (segment partners & dealers) needs and priorities
• Represent the voice and needs of the end user
• Work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization
• Responsible for the vision of what is to be built based on the product roadmap
• Creating, maintain and prioritize the Product Backlog according to business value
• Maintain a balance of technical knowledge and business acumen
• Communicate product vision and backlog priorities to the team
• Act as the key decision-maker regarding product features
• Collaborate with UI/UX team to develop wireframes
• Support feature decomposition process
• Inspect the product progress and perform acceptance validation
• Be a champion for the agile community and help to further the community within the organization

Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

Basic Qualifications:

• Four year Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field
• 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner
• 3+ years of experience with the Agile methodology
• Demonstrated customer first mindset
• Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
• Demonstrated ability to communicate appropriately to ensure a team’s success
• Domain expert in business applications
• Strong accountability, teamwork and organizational skills
• Highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional or potentially controversial situations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Top candidates will also possess these Qualifications:

• Product Owner certification (CSPO from Scrum Alliance)
• Experience managing projects using Agile software tools such as Mingle, AZDO, JIRA, Team Services, Rally
• Experience working with onshore/offshore team model
• Knowledge of SDLC and demonstrated experience employing SDLC in aspects of the project management process
• Background in Information Technology
• Experience with telematics data and use in condition monitoring applications
• Good knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, procedures, and a broad understanding of Caterpillar’s organization policies, standards, procedures, and a broad understanding of Caterpillar’s organization
