Taxonomy Specialist
Chowbus is a fast growing, well-funded food startup headquartered here in Chicago on a mission to help diners to discover new and exquisite dishes, and to give traditional mom and pop restaurants a fighting chance to succeed without compromising who they truly are. By building a super app, our goal is to be the one stop shop for everything related to food.
At Chowbus, a Taxonomy Specialist supports operations, designers & product managers to create a stellar consumer and merchant experience for our suite of products by curating English and Chinese content and supporting Content operations, critical to the day-to-day operations of Chowbus platform. A Taxonomy Specialist should be an excellent communicator, creative and collaborative, with an analytical mindset.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage content generation & update in both English and Chinese, including structured taxonomy content & product feature copy.
- Partner with business and operations teams for taxonomy and attribute change management and impact measurement.
- Ensure clear communication and coordination across partners, train internal users and put together training materials for restaurant users.
- Analyze data about product assortment and make data-driven decisions about taxonomy & content to increase product assortment discoverability.
- Support the product roadmap on business vision, user research, market and competitive analysis.
- Demonstrate a solid track record of cross-functional leadership working with business, operations, product management.
We are excited if you have...
- A BA or BS degree, preferably in Information Science, Technology, Computer-Human Interaction.
- 1-3 years of experience in content and project management.
- Strong language skills in both English and Chinese.
- Cross-functional collaborative project experience, with measurable results.

- A track record of successes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Stellar time management and documentation skills.
- Strong empathy and deep understanding in users’ frame of mind.
