Job Description

YOU’LL BUILD TECH THAT EMPOWERS GLOBAL BUSINESSES

The BASES Product Leadership team develops and drives forward our innovation product strategy, providing clients with predictive insights and product launch recommendations. Internally developed platforms are the foundation for our sample management strategy. You will oversee platforms that route surveys to panelists and manage panelists’ experience. These platforms are used by internal associates, panelists and vendors across the globe. Continuous evolution is required to meet the changing landscape of consumer market research, while maintaining the highest-quality standards.

Our platforms are based in:

UI: Sencha 6.x, Angular Js, React Js
Backend Services: TIBCO BusinessWorks 5.13
Database: EDB postgres, Apache Ignite 2.x, Open Source PostgreSQL
Messaging: TIBCO EMS
Mobile App: Xamarin
Machine Learning: Python, Elasticsearch 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Manage a small team of front-end and back-end developers
  • Lead your team in the architecture, design, and development of highly available, low latency applications.
  • Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot, and ensure your team’s adherence to the highest level of quality in writing complex, maintainable code to develop scalable, flexible, and user-friendly applications
  • Bring a strong sense of execution and ownership to your team. Manage team toward clearly stated objectives, SLAs and KPIs.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations throughout projects of varying scope and complexity.
  • Work closely with Infrastructure to implement performance and capacity monitoring, coordinate and plan scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Partner with Shared Services to conduct security reviews, release management protocol and secure support for mobile application / UI enhancements.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level offshore developers.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE:

  • Strong fundamentals in back-end or full-stack engineering, with proficiency in Angular / other frontend languages, SQL, and Python; experience with messaging middleware.
  • Great foundational leadership skills, including experience managing a small team of technologists
  • Ability to conduct code reviews, troubleshoot code and direct architecture & design decisions
  • Self starter, independent, problem solver.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with experience managing projects of varying scope and scale,preferably in an agile environment
  • Good track record of successful project delivery and handling projects under pressure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years experience in IT delivery
  • 5+ years experience leading a small technology team
  • Strong fundamentals in front and back-end development.
  • Ability to conduct code reviews, troubleshoot code.
  • Knowledge of API Development
  • Experience in Java / JavaScript programming and SQL (DB Design, Query Optimization, Indexing, Stored Procedure, etc.).
  • Relevant experience in an agile environment, preferably with the Scrum framework.
  • Knowledge of Jira or other project mgmt tools, etc.
