Kin is revolutionizing the home insurance industry. We think homeowners deserve better, so we’re making the process of quoting and purchasing insurance easier.

In order to continue to offer innovative products and services, we need to expand our team of Insurance experts. We’re looking for innovative thinkers who agree with us, insurance can be exciting! This individual will bring their industry expertise and lend a hand to multiple areas of the business including developing, implement, and managing core capabilities and processes for personal lines including - rating and underwriting plan development, underwriting quality, agency management, quotes/issued policies, market penetration, retention and competitive position. While we’re still expanding our team, you’ll eventually oversee a team of 5+ professionals.

A day in the life could include:

-Evaluating performance of existing rating and underwriting plans versus market

-Developing new plans to improve pricing, risk selection, profitability, and growth

-Creating processes, goals, and project plans for key capabilities including new business quotes and sales, underwriting quality,

-Catastrophe accumulation, agency performance and management, competitiveness, claims trends and metrics, and customer retention

-Creating operational goals for all capabilities and manage to goals

-Aligning operational goals/measures across functions for financial planning and evaluation

-Project management including planning, business requirements quality, timeliness, and quality

-Along with leadership and other insurance product experts, develop and execute personal lines strategy and franchise organizational model

-Recruit, retain, develop, and manage your team

Qualifications

-BS degree preferably in mathematics, finance, accounting, engineering, or other quantitative discipline

-15+ years work experience within insurance

-Deep expertise in personal lines – data, rating plans, underwriting, cat management, agency management, product management

-Track record of planning and manage projects and collaborating successfully across the organization

-Ability to recruit, lead, teach, and retain key talent

-Highly motivated and organized

-Clear communicator

-Strategic thinker
