ABOUT THE ROLE

Interior Define is seeking a VP of Product to play a key role in expanding our brand story by joining our Headquarters in Chicago. We are looking for a passionate individual who is excited to grow, innovate and disrupt the home furnishings industry through a transformative experience. 

The VP of Product will be responsible for identifying, developing and deploying Interior Defines comprehensive technology strategy. This position will be a key player in developing the overall growth strategy for Interior Define, while leading our team of technologists and working cross functionally with other department heads.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• You are excited about building an innovative brand, driven to set the direction of consumer brand interactions via digital mediums

• Action oriented self starter who can scale from strategic business interactions to detailed product development or engineering issues across our technology stack

• You are extremely detail oriented and are capable of managing the nuances of individual customer’s needs through close coordination with our sales, operations, and marketing teams

• You jump in and solve problems. You are able to troubleshoot quickly, but also know when to ask for help

• You are naturally curious and look for opportunities to make things better and faster across the entire company (without compromising quality)

• Ability to maintain confidential information given the partnership with the CEO and senior leadership team

• Strong ability to influence others cross-functionality 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Key member of the Executive team supporting in the development of company strategy and shared accountability for overall company success.

• Responsible for creating and driving a comprehensive technology strategy to scale with the company's overall growth trajectory 

• Build and manage the technology budget, recommending investments in people and platforms to support the company's long-term vision  

• Identify and recommend key technologies to improve overall efficiencies for internal teams and drive innovation throughout the customer journey

• Make informed insights and data-driven decisions; Actively share best practices with other leaders, serving as a cross-team mentor, contributing to the development of the organization as a whole

• Develop and lead a strong team of developers, product managers and designers, establishing individual and team goals and career development plans

• Create a culture and develop the systems for the team to deeply understand users, market trends, and business drivers/key metrics, and identify areas of opportunity from those insights

• Have the ability to influence and build strong relationships internally and externally

• Able to speak to the technology strategy in non technical terms

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is excited about growth and has the following credentials:

• 10+ years leading a technology team in an ecommerce corporate environment

• Experience with Agile methodologies

• Ability to tie product decisions and recommendations to ROI and success metrics

• Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments

• Proven experience developing and coaching individuals across engineering, product management and design

• Deep understanding of digital ecommerce, mobile, and retail

• Excellent communicator in written and verbal form

• Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills
