Job Description:

Investment Risk and Analytical Services (IRAS) provides Investment Performance and Risk Measurement reporting and analysis, Compliance Guideline Monitoring, and Private Markets reporting and analysis across multiple client segments. IRAS utilizes a suite of both proprietary and vendor reporting applications to deliver a broad range of investment analysis from rates of return and attribution analysis to risk modelling and guideline monitoring. This analysis supports the end to end investment management process through the planning, monitoring, measurement, and evaluation stages. IRAS works in tandem with multiple operational and client service focused groups across Northern Trust.

Within IRAS, the Global Operations Oversight (GOO) team is tasked with defining the future of work of IRAS products and services through global process oversight, the implementation of new capabilities and processes, productivity enhancements, and implementing new operating models as product and process needs continue to evolve and change.

The IRAS Global Operations Consultant will be responsible for managing projects and performing critical analysis globally. Projects involve delivery of strategic business capabilities that impact the global IRAS organization and client base. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring resources are aligned, creating project plans, tracking key milestones / risks / dependencies as well as executing on the deliverables within projects, including analysis and requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Focus of role is on execution of project(s) initiated to deliver a change in the strategic direction of business function activities, expansion of critical business capabilities.
  • Manages implementation of complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and / or ambiguous issues.
  • Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business and technology to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.
  • Communication of project/initiative objectives, risks, issues, and overall status to multiple levels of the organization.
  • Facilitation of coordination for decision making regarding prioritization and issue resolution

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills required
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • Ability to drive execution without direct reporting line responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in project / workstream management and business analysis that has been developed over 5 years of experience.
  • Technical and / or business knowledge developed through previous industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, finance, technology or related field
  • Some relevant experience in investment analysis or trust-investment related background, investments operations, client-servicing, or transferable experience from a related field preferred
