The Special Projects Manager - Data position sits on the culinary team and is responsible for delivering culinary data needs; no culinary experience required, but a passion for food is a plus. This is an opportunity for a data and process-oriented individual to develop & drive strategic initiatives that measurably move the team towards their overall goals. This role will be primary point person working with our data team in prioritizing team needs to and from the data platform, managing culinary analytics, reporting, exploration, and modeling. They identify opportunity areas with key stakeholders to ensure the team is moving forward on step-change projects, i.e. intelligent process design that enables smarter decision-making by stakeholders.
Responsibility Area: Special Projects
- Work with leaders in product team to identify top areas of opportunity, balancing new product development initiatives and day-to-day business needs
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create buy-in and understand potential (cost, complexity, customer) impact of project on customers and within the company
- Act as the project manager for implementation of most critical or impactful culinary initiatives, ensuring projects or initiatives deliver value
- Create data- and research-driven strategies for one-time projects from ideation to implementation and review, driving projects forward for timely/efficient
Responsibility Area: Data Analysis
- Research and spec out internal department data needs, ensuring optimal frequency, accessibility, and accuracy of culinary data Represent culinary priorities in cross-functional data team, driving changes and implementation
- Internally communicate clear timelines for projects, and hold external stakeholders to expectations
- Test data implementation initiatives for adherence to spec and provide as-needed support in data transfer projects
Responsibility Area: Process Design & Improvement
- Identify and execute projects that initiate step-change improvements and empower team to make better processes
- Create sustainable, trainable, and scalable processes within culinary that stakeholders use daily
- Develop responsibility owners on processes & empower them to adapt and add on to the work
- Create accessible, usable scorecards for each department and processes for tracking individual success KPIs

- Strong prioritization and project management skills
- SQL experience preferred; strong understanding of Looker a plus
- Experience in driving large-scale, high-impact execution
- Bonus: execute on data modeling & advanced analytics to deliver business insights & growth
- Excellent communication skills, with experience creating buy-in with a range of stakeholders
- Proactive in identifying problems and finding innovative solutions
- Ability to understand the big picture as well as exceptional attention to detail
- Skilled at dealing with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible & thrive in an environment of constant change
- MBA or consulting background preferred
