Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to keep our promise to our customers, stakeholders, and employees. External threats within Cyber Security continue to mount and evolve, this role is part of the team to manage these forces. The Cyber Security Program Manager is responsible for managing one of Caterpillars business entities focused segment security program.
Job Duties:
Cyber Security Program Manager will be responsible for managing and aligning resources across the segment and aligned with GIS. We expect this role to be accountable for management of 30 moderate to high level programs. This role manages the overall portfolio for the segment and may even assist in individual security projects. The role will require driving activities and results across the distributed groups of teams that need to complete activities /projects and develop methods / standard work to stream-line team's activities.
Specific work assignments may be as follows:
- Plan and lead program and project planning sessions.
- Mentor/coach the leadership team and address leadership issues one-on-one with senior divisional and department management.
- Ability to adapt to diverse business climates.
- Provide input for staffing and support of programs and create accurate and detailed schedules.
- Successfully handoff project to Program Managers or Project Coordinators.
- Mentor/train Program Manager and Coordinator positions.
- Interpret & communicate Voice of the Customer (VOC), Voice of Business (VOB), and Critical Customer Requirements (CCR) to develop a comprehensive Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to reduce program risk and enhance project schedule quality.
- Responsible for managing the segment security program.
- Manages the overall portfolio and possibly even a few individual security projects.
- Drives activities and results across the distributed groups of teams that need to complete activities /projects.
- Develops methods / standard work to stream-line team's activities.
- Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
- Position requires broad knowledge of company policies and processes, and company products and customers with direct project management experience.
- College or university degree with a technical focus is highly desirable.
- Six to eight years of progressively responsible job-related experience in multiple business units.
Top Candidate Will Also Have:
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or influence others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
- Strong project management skills, team leadership skills, excellent communication skills, strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Professional training in leading and facilitating meetings is highly desired.
- Previous Black Belt experience is a plus.
- Additional expertise in security or cybersecurity is highly desired.
Additional Details:
- Location: East Peoria, Illinois
- Travel may be required for this position, including travel outside the US to support all business sectors and emerging market programs, which may include India, China, Japan, Brazil and Russia.
