The Electric Power Division currently has an opening for a Digital Governance Consultant. This position can be located in Mossville, Illinois or Dallas, Texas. As a Digital Governance Consultant at Caterpillar, you will be responsible for enabling services growth by ensuring that our customers and dealers can get connected by having a certified solution available in region. They are the single point of contact for the Electric Power Digital and Technology team for all hardware and supply chain requests along with managing supplier relations. They manage all the Electric Power Digital Hardware Certifications, technical requirements, and cellular certifications, to ensure no interruption in service for customers due to changes in certification or security regulations.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Create project governance as subset of organizational corporate governance
* Align business and technology objectives, deliveries, and relationships
* Define and organize business requests understanding, such as - What is being requested, Why it is something that should be done, and How will it be achieved
* Support all aspects of the governance processes with resourcing, communicating, cadence, and tools
* Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Service Introduction (NSI) meetings to gather and provide updates, and lead the tasks required to reach compliance
* Assist with expected agile deliverables for burn down charts, velocity charts, stage gate reviews, and sprint retrospectives as required for governance management
* Manage supplier relations and supply chain requests
* Enter quotes and invoices in Caterpillar purchasing systems and insure processing
* Insure governance process is continually documented with changes to reflect current state for evaluating requests
* Schedule governance meetings and insure results are documented and passed to the appropriate areas for follow up and implementation
* Escalate governance issues appropriately to steering committee and leadership levels
* Assist with strategic and technical roadmaps
* Collaborate with other areas to identify cross plan dependencies
* Liaison with multiple business units in the enterprise
* Perform analytics as needed for governance reporting and management
* Lead collaborative workshop sessions
* Create presentations for leaders and others to influence direction and assist with organization change management for digital needs
* Keep abreast of emerging behaviors, technologies, and companies that may impact the organization
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, Technical Marketing or Business
* 5+ years of experience in leading and supporting project activities
* 2+ years demonstrated project management and team leadership skills
Top Candidates will also have:
* Master's degree in Engineering, Technical Marketing or Business
* Telematics hardware experience highly desired
* Previous experience in Engineering, Technical Marketing or Product Support
* Previous experience with suppliers/purchasing
* Strong Communication Skills
* New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
* Experience as a 6 Sigma Master Black Belt
* Cross-functional knowledge and experience in the following areas:
-Supply Chain
-Hardware Engineering
