The GSO Compliance Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management and ongoing coordination for key, strategic Corporate Compliance, Legal and Business Continuity projects initiatives and requirements. The Project Manager role is responsible for project management oversight of multiple high visibility, high priority projects related to Operational and Technical readiness for Global Service Operations.  This individual will interface with departments across Groupon to understand newly identified business needs and work to operationalize processes, technology and treatment strategies to meet continued changes to the business.  Additionally, this individual will be responsible for ensuring timely updates to documentation to maintain current standard procedures.  As the department's primary point of contact during the life of the project, the Compliance Program Manager bears significant responsibility in maintaining project scope, verifying that project deliverables are met within required timelines, and ensuring all stakeholders are informed; potentially across multiple projects at one time.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage start dates, completion dates, and adjusted due dates for projects in the GSO Compliance project plans, ensuring that these plans are regularly updated and noted as appropriate
  • Facilitate regular working group meetings and additional support meetings needed to ensure the work in the GSO Compliance project plans is moving forward
  • Drive progress in GSO Compliance initiatives through documentation, follow ups, and escalation of issues
  • Identify and analyze stakeholder business objectives and translate them into functional requirements with clearly articulated benefits; document business processes, both current and future state
  • Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes
  • Maintain a high level of awareness and knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management requirements
  • Lead and facilitate work stream project teams composed of cross-functional representation from multiple business units across the enterprise at various levels to drive the remediation of regulatory action plans
  • Collaborate with  internal teams across the organization including Legal, Finance, Corporate Risk Management, Internal Audit, support areas, technology teams and Compliance teams
  • Interact with all levels including up to senior management levels

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience
  • 3+ years project management experience, including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and driving results across large matrixed teams under tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong analysis, decision-making and logic skills
  • Self-motivated, display a high level of initiative
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of project management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of staff, management and regulators
  • Ability to influence others without having direct accountability for them

Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years preferred experience in corporate compliance programs including risk assessments, testing and monitoring, training, policy and procedure development and the process for implementing new products and business operations as well as exposure to governance, risk and compliance tools
  • PMP or Lean Certification recommended but not required
  • General knowledge of personal information security and contact center laws or regulations
  • Some technical and service operations experience preferred.
