Responsibilities consist mainly of creation and tracking of key performance indicators as well as design, and delivery of analytical models that will bring and enable insightful decision making by the business. The Analyst will work under supervision and in a team environment performing requirements gathering, data analysis, process mapping, and test case definition. The Consultant will collaborate across multiple business units and projects. 1. Support the analytics needs of various business units 2. Gain exposure to cross-functional teams to facilitate shared vision on solutions to meet business needs 3. Analyze and understand Northern Trust¿s core business processes and data flows to design and develop enduring BI solutions that provide analytical insights 4. Contribute to the development and delivery of solutions that: leverage and extend existing Business Intelligence and analytics infrastructure; take metric governance and enterprise solutions into consideration; are scalable, repeatable and effective; follow agreed upon governance and technology policies 5. Assist with SQL queries to troubleshoot 6. Assist with applying and developing statistical models/methods that address business issues 7. Develop metrics and create ad-hoc reporting as needed 8. Assist internal customers with acceptance and adoption of implemented solutions 9. Assist in the preparation of strategic analysis and findings for department leadership and key stakeholders 10. Create and maintain requirements, specifications, and business processes documentation 11. Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner 12. Identify opportunities to enhance processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve accuracy, viability and value 13. Rapidly and effectively adapt to a highly dynamic and fast-paced work environment 14. Participate in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned 15. Foster a positive and collaborative environment 16. Operates independently and has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function 17. As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level 18. Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult 19. Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities 20. Conducts preliminary analysis 21. Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management 22. Strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within functional areas

Bachelor¿s Degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience required ¿ Database systems competence is expected ¿ Familiarity with data analysis and/or reporting ¿ Strong mathematical skills required ¿ Ability to manipulate large amounts of data for analytical projects and translate that data into sound insights ¿ Strong analytical and problem solving skills ¿ Experience with SQL and Excel ¿ Strong communication skills ¿ Strong project management skills ¿ Strong team / relationship building skills
