Primary Responsibilities

The Lead Retail Merchandiser is accountable for managing the successful design and implementation of setups and major resets to support Account Management and Sales Operations objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate and execute store setups and major resets in the region.?
  • Prepare and communicate activity schedules on a timely basis.?
  • Work with company and customer teams to develop and communicate planograms and other store set design documents.
  • Implement and validate store rotation schedules for the region.
  • Implement and validate the Model Store program for the region.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for the region.
  • Direct the activities of Merchandisers. Coach, counsel, train, and evaluate job performance of subordinates in meeting their assigned objectives and develop their skills.
  • Recommend and implement changes in staffing requirements and assist in the selection process to effect such changes.
  • Administer appropriate company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • Minimum five (5)years' experiencein grocery merchandising;including both independent and chain accounts.
  • Working knowledge of and literacy in computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and category management applications.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60%.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in time management and delegation skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a variety of tasks simultaneously, including anticipating problems and taking appropriate preventive action to avoid crises whenever possible.
  • Proficient in team leadership skills. Strong at defining team mission and link to company objectives, providing team members the tools they need to function, and resolving issues hindering optimum team performance.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively identify long-term issues, develop and implement strategies to address these issues, and linking shorter-term activities to these strategies.
