The Merchant Onboarding Manager role is responsible for ensuring that merchants have a best-in-class experience selling on Groupon Goods Marketplace. Ownership will range from ownership of merchant on-boarding and initial education to strategy development in conjunction with cross departmental teams and leadership.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Operations and Merchandising management to ensure that that the appropriate measures, goals, straining & materials are developed and maintained for seller-service and hand held on-boardingapproaches.
Analyze on-boarding merchant experience by seller taxonomy, acquisition model, and engagement to drive continuous operational improvement, merchant conversion and developed merchants to hand off to the Merchant Success team for ongoing support.
Continuous iteration and experimentation in processes, webinars, articles and direct interaction to arrive at and improved merchant on-boarding practices.
Gauge the sentiment of the Marketplace merchant population by direct feedback and wide to segmented surveys and synthesize data to provide directional input for Product Management and leadership on improvement strategies.
Primary owner responsible for the Marketplace Merchant Scorecard and Graduation Programs, to include continuous improvement efforts to further develop the program so that features or other member “perks” tie to higher levels of performance, working in conjunction with Merchant Success to improve merchants’ operational performance, and engage Product Management to improve and build out processes.
Acts as point for the team to develop framework of measuring impact of annual Operating Plans, creating dashboards and data tables as required, to ensure all new programs have reporting requirements built in and clear measurement post-implementation
Organize, act as the point of contact, and lead matrix teams to accomplish medium length projects across multiple business teams and departments
Perform duties of project management across both business initiatives and engineering-required platform enhancements; flush out details and requirements, capturing needs of business, operational and other core internal teams, and delivering a successful release end to end
Requirements:
5-7 years with 3-5 years in business operations or merchant/customer support preferred
Bachelor's Degree or higher
Advanced knowledge of Excel and SQL
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, as well as the business and technical communities.
Demonstrated ability to be productive and make decisions with a high level of discretion with minimal supervision. Must be results oriented and able to move forward without complete information
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to build consensus towards onboarding goals with Operations, Merchandising and leadership
Must be comfortable with changing requirements and priorities. Must be able to proactively communicate status and identify risks
Experience leading cross functional / matrix teams
