Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for a NTI Project Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for leading one or more New Technology Introduction (NTI) projects inside of the Industrial Power Division (IPSD-L). Projects will cover various component and system technology investigations needed to enable the IPSD-L Product Strategy for diesel, gas, or alternative fuels.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may Include, but are not limited to:

  • Accountable for the assessment, concept, and development of various technologies working with an assembled group of team members and subject matter experts from around the organization to deliver results through execution of the standard NTI process
  • Responsible for NTI design architecture for next-gen engine systems, aftertreatment systems, or hybrid technologies, including Creo and simulation capability
  • Performs complex analysis work, identifies design problems, and resolves issues
  • Responsible for monitoring industry trends and potential suppliers in evolving technology space
  • Responsible for learning and teaching others in new technologies
  • Responsible for on-time project completion including providing project management updates, all end deliverables, while managing to a given budget


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering curriculum, Mechanical preferred, plus 10 years of engineering experience
  • Master's degree in an accredited engineering curriculum, Mechanical preferred, plus 7-9 years of engineering experience
  • Doctorate degree in an accredited engineering curriculum, Mechanical preferred, plus 4-6 years of engineering experience
  • Design and simulation background with tools such as Creo and Creo/Simulate
  • Track record of success solving challenging technical problems and delivering projects through completion


Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Engine platform architecture experience or core engine components experience
  • Background in diesel or gas engine performance
