Accelerating growth in digital and personalization capabilities, PDL is an innovation lab focused on meeting the changing needs of customers, regardless of when, where, and how consumers choose to shop.

Peapod Digital Labs and the Strategy Team are driven by putting the customer at the center of all we do and are constantly looking for ways to evolve the customer experience through the development and execution of new projects and initiatives across our six brands and two service centers. We are seeking positive, enthusiastic, team orientated people who want to work in an entrepreneurial environment that drives new initiatives and strategic partnerships forward.

Lead by influencing strategic direction for PDL by building & guiding cross-functional leaders which include developing and refining the processes for Brand strategic business planning, competitive intelligence including response planning as well as other critical priorities to ensure Peapod's success. Assess company goals and objectives to determine appropriate strategy and initiatives and relative priority. Develop business cases and cross-functional enrollment for the financial resources required to successfully support initiatives. Develop, implement and continuously pursue innovative concepts and strategies that bring added depth and breadth to corporate business strategies in collaboration with retail. Provide strategic focus and effort to target growth opportunities including acquisitions and strategy roll out markets. Influence the Brand leadership team concerning strategic opportunities.

Recipe for Success - What's "in store" for the role  

• Create Brand documents that clearly support requirements for Ahold Delhaize leadership (e.g. Supervisory and Management Board updates; EBDALT presentations, etc.

• Business planning

• Guide the leadership team in identifying and prioritizing annual priorities, including financial and strategic

  implications

• Ensure transparency in timing, complexity and resource constraints of planned initiatives

• Regularly facilitate leadership team conversations to review progress and updates to the strategic plans

• Provide guidance on, identify, and share best practices to increase sales and maximize profitability

• Facilitate Brand shared services interactions to select design firm, liaise between banner and shared services

  to determine colors, sizes, layouts and other design specifics in a timely manner to ensure completion on time

  and budget

• Provide financial assumptions to investment analysis team to develop proforma and design specific breakeven

  assumptions

• Maintain ownership over any/all future updates, coordinate between all functions to develop process to

  manage/maintain Strategic opportunities.

• Own strategic special events including analyst trips, events (e.g. Investor Summits)

• Manage and/or serve as member of key teams and committees on large-scale and/or long-term special

The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients 

• Bachelor's Degree 
• 4+ years of work experience, ideally including working with research 

Extra Spices - What you should bring to the table

• Ability to shift gears and re-priorize based on business needs
• Consulting experience is a plus
• Effectively communicate to various levels of management
