Portfolio Manager II Branch Network
This position is responsible for overseeing a defined portfolio and ensuring that all priorities are adequately reflected and tracked. They work with business stakeholders to vet new ideas and help to define the conceptual architecture and business change. They manage the intake of new demands, the prioritization of efforts, the tracking of status until completion, and update stakeholders on changes to the portfolio. They provide a balanced scorecard to their respective portfolio owners within the Branch Network, reflecting all aspects to include business goals, financials, and operational concerns.
The Portfolio Manager identifies the future demand, defines sequencing and dependencies, works with resource teams to determine availability, and adjust priorities accordingly. They ensure that the programs, projects and products within the portfolio for the Branch Network are being properly managed, placed and prioritized. They serve as the initial point of contact between IT and business units for a defined portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages a defined portfolio.
- Functions with a high degree of autonomy; generally requires little or no guidance
- Provides coaching and guidance to other Portfolio Managers.
- Portfolio Strategy: Assists with the capturing and articulation of the Branch Network Portfolio Strategy.
- Portfolio Roadmap: Captures and articulates the Branch network Portfolio Roadmap. Identifies dependencies and conflicts and actively resolves them.
- Solution Approach: Facilitates process to bring idea to technical teams to develop high-level solution approach.
- Portfolio Priorities: Reviews, resolves and approves priorities within a portfolio. Provides consolidated list of needs to engineering teams.
- Intake: Monitors the status of new requests and actively looks for ways to improve quality and throughput.
- Stage Gate Governance: Facilitates the process to ensure the proper significant process/control risk impact/ data security/ privacy impact, government compliance and/or other regulatory matters are completed.
- Use Cases/User Stories – Facilitates the capturing, authoring and prioritization of stories across multiple teams.
- Demand vs Forecast: Reviews and provide updates to management.
- Business Case: Authors business cases for approval.
- Portfolio Reports: Reviews portfolio reports with management.
- Balanced Scorecard: Captures the status of initiatives, operations, financials and customer satisfaction in order to produce a balanced scorecard. Reviews Balanced Scorecard with management.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or similar subject or equivalent experience preferred.
- 6+ years in product or portfolio management.
- 8+ years in previous management roles with an emphasis on program, product or P & L management.
- Previous experience managing large bodies of work in a complex enterprise environment.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Solid understanding of the MRO space or similar industries.
- Experience operating in an agile context.
