The Program Management Manager role will be responsible for providing thought leadership and guidance for critical programs within PDL. This role is responsible for cultivating shared practices, designing, and implementing a repeatable program management framework and sits within the Technology Business Management team (TBM). The overall mission of the team is to provide solutions and services that enable Technology Leaders to make timely, data driven business and strategic decisions. The TBM team supports five core pillars of business management focused on planning & analytics, portfolio management, governance, program management, and knowledge management & communications. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of business and technical acumen, a big-picture mindset and the drive to deliver results. This role will work in close collaboration with Business, Technology and Finance professionals at all levels within the organization.

Program Management
- Cultivate shared practices: responsible for designing and implementing a repeatable program management framework while advancing the program discipline and operational effectiveness by supporting continual evolution of our processes.
- Create Work Visibility and Buy In: Develop clear reporting and measurement strategies for all programs within your team tailored to multiple levels of the organization from executive leadership to individual contributors
- Identify Risks and Remove Blockers: Work with the team to better identify risks and blockers on an ongoing basis across all programs. Ensure risks have mitigation plans and assist your team in removing blockers they encounter.
- Coach PMs through the PM process, delivery of projects negotiations, hard conversations, issue management and relationship management activities. Serve as a first point of escalation for program managers.
- Responsible for successful formation and delivery of key strategic initiatives through development of a clear vision of what determines a successful solution
- Drive alignment across all program portfolios coordinating with portfolio managers to identify, define, prioritize, and deliver programs that drive value and are aligned to strategic priorities
- Report on actual & forecast spend, dependency management, program risks and mitigation plans, coaching Agile teams, communicating to executive stakeholders and building & maintaining program metrics.
- Manage change and take active leadership in timely decision making
- Demonstrates ability to see cross-functional impacts of decisions, project plans and execution.
- Understands business objectives of the program and assumes personal accountability for success of the program against those objectives
- Demonstrates advanced understanding of development processes and product launch scope and activities. Uses experience and knowledge to identify and recommend process improvements.
- Understands customer needs and reflects those needs in the support provided.
- Process Improvement
- Build professional relationships and work collaboratively across functions to share knowledge and deliver results; actively solicit feedback and participate in initiatives.
- Demonstrate leadership supportive of a collaborative team culture and provide guidance to Analysts
- Support the implementation of Technology Business Management process improvements and standard tools to establish best practices for continued organizational growth.
- Participate in creating designs and guidance on KPI metrics, future state plans, tooling solutions, and business processes.
- Manage a strong base of financial information and foundation for effective decision-making by leveraging people, processes, and tools, aiming to identify opportunities that enable cost optimization and efficiencies.
- Support internal stakeholders in their efforts to improve Technology performance and bring maturity to TBM activities supporting Technology and financial performance.
Reporting and Communications
- Manage stakeholder communications. Set and continually manage expectations.
- Ability to gather and analyze statistical data, generate reports, and to develop and deliver presentations.
- Create compelling presentations and publishing ready communication materials for Senior Leadership updates and department wide consumption
- Challenge the status and drive changes to improve business performance and productivity.
- Manage issues/risks, quality resources, dependencies, and partners, and escalate, if necessary, in a timely matter

The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients
- 6+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience in transformation and change, both within organizational mindset and in process/programs
- Strong understanding of Program Management disciplines, best practices & executive reporting
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including both traditional waterfall and Agile delivery
- Outstanding written and verbal skills
