Role Description:

The Senior Associate of Provider Engagement will lead the evolution of the way we support our physicians and nurse practitioners at Oak Street Health to achieve our mission. At Oak Street, provider engagement represents a critical value-creation lever and opportunity to impact our organization and communities. The Provider Services team hires and supports a large number of new providers per year with far more on the horizon, and the Senior Associate of Provider Services is responsible for guiding our engagement effort across that team of licensed providers with a host of services. The role has high visibility inside and outside of the organization and an opportunity for development as Oak Street continues to grow across the nation.

The Senior Associate of Provider Engagement oversees the following:

  • Enhancing and leading Oak Street Health in-house continuing medical education programming.

 

  • Growing and supporting the Oak Street Health graduate medical education office, including fellowship programs, residency rotations, etc.

  • Organizing and being the chairperson of the Wellness Committee and achieving and maintaining accreditation for the provider group.

  • Designing and executing our "Joy in Practice" program, whereby we support affiliation and collaboration among providers.

  • Run the Oak Street Health Early Career Physician Program to offer structured training and support for the numerous new physicians who join Oak Street Health from postgraduate training programs.

  • Build and accredited in-house Continuing Medical Education program at Oak Street Health.

  • Partner with our Fellowship Director to annually review Fellow curriculum, identify additional CME/engagement opportunities, and partner with Fellows on Venture Projects for their MBA

  • Coordinate work for the Provider Group Administration Committee, the team who guides the structure of the provider group at Oak Street Health.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Provider Services, and will closely collaborate with the Education Specialist on Graduate Medical Education and Residency Affiliation efforts.

 

What are we looking for?

  • 3+ years of project management or education experience.

  • B.S./B.A. degree required. Other advanced degree welcomed but not required.

  • Previous management experience welcomed but not required, but advancement in the role will require the capacity to lead and manage effectively.

  • Excellent skills in database management, verbal and written communications.

  • Ability to function in an entrepreneurial environment and manage in the midst of ambiguity.

  • Very smart, highly motivated, confident professional who is comfortable working with both physicians and senior leadership

  • Has or can develop an intimate knowledge of the medical training process (i.e., medical school, internship, residency, fellowship, etc.)

  • Strong desire to have a major impact in the healthcare space and passion to "rebuild healthcare as it should be"

  • Calm, poised person who does not react emotionally to challenging situations/conversations

  • Proficiency with standard commercial Office Suite, especially Google Apps for Business and Microsoft Office

  • Attention to detail in the creation of formal documents and letters regarding physician credentials

  • Absolute integrity

  • Sense of urgency

  • Appreciation for a challenge and a hunger for growth in a startup environment

  • Highly professional communication skills, comfortable networking with senior physicians and other healthcare executives

  • U.S. work authorization
