SENIOR DIGITAL PROGRAM MANAGER
Description
As the Digital Program Manager for the Microsoft Dealer ERP Council & Community you are responsible to drive alignment and support of CAT Digital’s strategic priorities. Supporting the Dealer Digital Integration Mgr, you will serve as the principal communicator with dealers, vendors & internal stakeholders to drive prioritized alignment & execution of both Caterpillar & Dealer Strategic IT & Digital Initiatives. You must be able to develop and leverage strong internal networks to obtain resources and the cooperation needed and remove roadblocks for the Dealers and their ERP vendors be successful. Your experience combined with excellent communication & engagement skills is essential to facilitate alignment & commitment to executing prioritized initiatives. Key responsibilities;
JOB PURPOSE:
- Leverage advanced knowledge of Caterpillar’s internal systems, Digital Portfolio and supporting processes to guide the SAP & INFOR community of Dealers to optimize their systems and integration with Caterpillar to deliver targeted business outcomes.
- Be an advocate of the Digital Platform and drive Dealer commitment and successful integration & adoption with stakeholder group.
- Work with community, ERP Technology Provider and ISVs to develop ERP common data model to drive, manage and govern Data asset growth
- Conduct roadmap alignment sessions with Caterpillar BEMs and ERP Vendors to establish robust and referenceable framework in support of execution.
- Facilitate Microsoft ERP Dealer Council Agenda & provide Program Management for community wide Caterpillar initiatives.
- Sponsor efforts with community to drive adoption of common core solutions and to keep current on platforms and meet N-1 target %
- Support innovation & facilitate the posting & sharing of Dealer Best Practices for the ERP Council with emphasis on delivered business outcomes.
- Develop & maintain detailed Dealer Ecosystem maps of systems, vendors and intentions for each key functional area.
- Use knowledge of digital processes and business acumen to guide cross-functional teams in the execution of projects and provide governance & reporting as appropriate.
- Use Agile or Waterfall program management methodology as relevant to drive specific project initiatives with assigned Project Managers.
- Collaborate with the other Dealer ERP Council leads to align & leverage group synergies & engagement where appropriate.
Background / Experience: Significant challenges of this position are working closely with Dealers, their ERP & system vendors and with different organizations in Caterpillar. Experience combined with excellent communication & engagement skills is essential to facilitate alignment & commitment to executing prioritized initiatives. As a Program Manager, he or she must develop strong internal networks to enable them to obtain resources and cooperation needed and remove roadblocks for the dealers and ERP Vendors to be successful.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• A 4-year degree from an accredited college or university
• Extensive and progressively demanding leadership roles in Digital and IT functions.
• Deep understanding of the Dealer IT & Digital environment and the Dealer / Caterpillar
integration matrix
• Requires general understanding of Dealer business processes and deep understanding of the
role IT / Digital plays in supporting growth and business development.
• Have ability to provide strategic direction to effectively manage teams, staff, budgets, business
plans, one-year project plans and 2-5 year strategic plans
• Requires ability to work with diversified departments within larger service centers and larger
business units along with excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Professional Degree level qualifications in relevant IT & Digital areas.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
• 10+ years of progressively demanding leadership roles in Digital and IT functions
• Deep understanding of the Dealer IT & Digital environment and the Dealer / Caterpillar
integration matrix.
• Microsoft ERP & Technology Stack experience
• Must have a strong customer focus, possess dealer and customer experience, knowledge of
company products, product applications, and customer workflow related to Purchase, Operate,
and Support processes.
• Advanced Communications Skills - Ability to clearly instruct project managers and their team
members and relay or coach PM in preparing updates and progress information to committees,
directors and other management.
• Masters / Degree level qualifications in relevant IT & Digital areas.
