Summary
Affirm's Service Infrastructure team is building a large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant global infrastructure shared across multiple financial products, merchants and vendors. Ensuring that our infrastructure is transparently available to engineers and scales efficiently to stay ahead of business growth is essential to Affirm's success story. Service infrastructure organization is responsible for building and scaling foundational infrastructure across multiple AWS regions, Multi-region/DR strategy, Kubernetes (K8s) fleet management, Capacity Engineering, Observability, and SRE to enable high availability and reliability for Affirm partners and customers. We pride ourselves on our culture across engineering design, architecture, writing detailed tech specs, and automating running large-scale operations via code.
The Senior Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) role within Service Infrastructure is at the heart of fulfilling the team's mission of building world-class foundational infrastructure to scale Affirm for future growth. As a TPM lead, you will be part of the core service infrastructure leadership group driving large cross-organizational programs across engineering stakeholders. You will partner closely with the rest of the leadership team to develop the strategic roadmap and execution rhythm for core service infrastructure priorities.
What you'll do

  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary, and highly visible technical projects in service of our team's mission of reliable, compliant, and easy-to-use data.
  • Coordinate across many engineering teams through the full project lifecycle including requirements gathering, development milestone planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Present status updates (progress, plan, risks, etc) to the executive team based on the technical risks and challenges with inputs from stakeholders that include legal, security, and engineering teams.
  • Face of the team working with cross-engineering stakeholders on the infrastructure requirements and prioritization framework.
  • Develop expertise in the Service Infrastructure domain shaping the organization's strategy for years to come.


What we look for

  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management roles.
  • An organized and strategic approach to collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Track record of successfully working on large scale infrastructure initiatives
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent soft skills to establish good rapport and working relationships
  • Obsesses over getting the details right but knows how to ship on time
