What You'll Bring
Knowledge and experience in product strategy and management, preferably in financial services, technology, or big data
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and conceptualize solutions that solve business problems
Ability to drive and facilitate discussion amongst key stakeholders in the pursuit of optimal solution strategies
Proven success navigating large, matrixed organizations - Collaborative, customer-focused individual who can reach across the organization to effect change
Requires 7+ years of related business experience with at least 3 years that focus on strategic project delivery.
Must be comfortable analyzing financials, with strong project management skills, problem solving, and business acumen
Proven ability to quickly grasp industry and business-wide concepts in order to assess implications to drive actions and to capitalize on opportunities
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or other related discipline

TransUnion’s Global Solutions is comprised of a portfolio of products, currently including Credit Data, Specialized Risk Solutions, Fraud Solutions, Marketing Solutions and Emerging Solutions. Emerging Solutions includes ShareAble, integrated solutions (e.g., Seamless Onboarding), Bulk Data, Criminal Data, 1st-party collections products, etc., and is where we incubate and innovate products and solutions that are based on new, emerging technologies and data, and/or fall outside of core Credit, Specialized Risk, Fraud or Marketing Solutions.
The Director, Strategic Initiatives will be help identify and prioritize the most important initiatives and opportunities within the scope of the Emerging Solutions team. They will be responsible for delivery of select projects identified amongst that list. For example, they may be responsible for delivery of new or enhanced solutions such as for 1st-party collections. Or they may drive the business case for and incubation of an entirely new solution within the scope of the Emerging Solutions team. This role reports to the SVP, Emerging Solutions Strategy and Planning.
Identify potential new and enhanced solution ideas within the scope of the Emerging Solutions team to be considered for investment
Develop business cases for and appraisal of select new product ideas to determine their potential to address customer needs and to achieve revenue and EBITDA growth goals
Support the broader planning process for the Emerging Solutions Vertical
Manage execution of select strategic projects for the emerging team working with cross functional teams on delivery including Technology, Marketing Sales, Operations and Vertical Markets
Projects could include working on improvements to existing solutions or incubation of new data and solutions
Lead primary research activities, including voice-of-customer interviews (both internal and external), focus group studies to identify and refine requirements around new or enhanced solutions opportunities
Develop product concepts that leverage internal and external customer feedback and market insights
Make business cases for investment in new solutions opportunities working with Finance and other functional partners to establish potential, feasibility and likely returns
Support the three-year plan for Emerging Solutions; and as needed, monitor progress against goals
Manage execution of new product projects working with cross functional teams (e.g. Technology, Operations, Vertical Markets) to ensure a timely and high quality delivery
Work with the market verticals, sales and others to create the market engagement plan that defines how we leverage our internal capabilities (e.g., marketing, sales, analytics, etc.) to best get our data & solutions to market
