The Senior Associate Director, Digital Strategy is a key part of the Digital Strategy management team, combining superior technical and project management skills along with management ability to oversee the production of the Association’s suite of websites. This position will collaborate with the Director, Technical Strategy to identify existing and emerging digital technologies that can be applied to achieve Digital Strategy business goals. This position oversees the production team’s work and ensures they’ve met deliverable expectations. The Senior Associate Director advises both the Digital Strategy department as well as internal clients on technical strategies and implementations.

This position is based at the Alzheimer’s Association’s Home Office in downtown Chicago, IL and reports to the Director, Technical Strategy. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Manages production team – including workload, architecture and build of new sites, support for chapter network’s CMS activities and front end systems maintenance
  • Advises and consults with internal clients to assist in technical decisions and implementations  
  • Liaises with IT colleagues in cross-department projects, ensuring that staff resources are correctly allocated and high-quality work and deadlines are met             
  • Translates new and existing technologies into business strategies to meet mission goals              
  • Manages projects of various scale and scope
  • Manages relationship with vendor teams            
  • Other projects as needed

MINIUMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree; computer science, communications or a related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 8-10 years progressive, professional web development experience
  • Minimum 5 years managing and developing teams
  • Ability to define, develop, and manage multiple projects of varying size and scope simultaneously
  • Ability to understand, drive, and administer technical development of websites, including communicating technical requirements to stakeholders with varying levels of technical fluency
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekend as needed for the job
