What will your day look like?
You will be responsible for leading a portfolio of strategic enterprise initiatives in primary support of Alliant’s journey to the Cloud. Programs typically span across the enterprise and may include developing strategies, creating and managing multi-year cross-functional strategy execution plans, recovering off track strategic initiatives, or leading delivery of complex regulatory or operational efficiency programs. This will include providing leadership to cross-functional teams, partnering with Alliant Project Managers, vendor partners, and ensuring programs are being managed within the Alliant framework, timelines, and budgets. General direction is received from the Director, Technology Strategy and Portfolio Management.
Responsibilities

- Own the execution and strategy of enterprise-wide programs from the ground up. Build program roadmaps and manage deliverables of multiple work streams; including short- and long-term goals. Program management scope consists of:
- Developing strategy
- Planning and crafting program scope, charter, schedule, resources, budget, and risks
- Managing key internal and external stakeholders
- Assigning tasks and monitoring work effort necessary to achieve program objectives
- Providing direction to and oversight of fully and partially allocated program resources
- Monitoring, managing, and reporting out on consumption of time and resources against program budgets; providing recommendations and alternate plans necessary to manage resource consumption
- Engaging and managing program sponsors, project managers and stakeholders as necessary to enable program performance
- Managing changes in scope, schedule, or resources as necessary; continually assessing project feasibility, cost estimates, business impacts and risks
- Documenting and reporting program activities and outcomes
- Ensuring programs are completed on-time, within budget and with high quality
- Developing and executing on enterprise communication plans to ensure the successful adoption, rollout, and cultural changes necessary to successfully implement the program are present
- Lead the team to achieve technical deliverables within the project, as required; partner with technical architects to develop sustainable, flexible, and open technical foundations upon which program deliverables are built
- Engage the appropriate technical resources and departmental leaders to identify deliverables, resource requirements, milestones, timelines, risks and mitigation plans
- Research best business practices within and outside the organization, leveraging insights to drive improved business outcomes
- Collect and analyze process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced operational efficiencies, increased productivity and reduced costs
- Determine how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes
- Continuously assess and improve Alliant’s program management systems and tools
- Analyze and measure the effectiveness of new or existing business processes and develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements
- Support and facilitate Alliant’s adoption of state-of-the-art implementation practices including agile project management and software development methods, improved technical documentation, and testing and QA standards
- Build fact-based cases for change inclusive of quantitative and qualitative data and information
- Track details and interdependencies between numerous strategic initiatives regardless of program/project ownership
- Work effectively across teams, overcome resistance and successfully navigate a complex organization
- Produce business reports, dashboards, and scorecards, which will require coordination across multiple functions to gather, analyze, and synthesize information for executive audiences
Qualifications
What makes you a great fit?
You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor’s degreein Engineering, MIS, Computer Science, or related field required; Master’s degree is preferred, and you have:
- Minimum of ten years relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise technology transformations from traditional, on-premise to Microsoft Azure cloud
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills required
- Sound business acumen, including superior grasp of financial analysis and business case concepts as well as industry trends/dynamics
- Experience in leading and implementing technical solutions
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to span boundaries
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and messages to the essential components and deliver effective messages to a wide range of audiences
- Strong desire to learn and continuously grow impact of the role
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred: benchmarking, business process analysis and reengineering, new product development, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements
- Demonstrate innovative mindset, willing to challenge conventional approaches and hold an enterprise viewpoint even in the face of adversity and resistance
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
