The Opportunity: The Senior Project Coordinator/Scrum Master will be a critical team member helping to support agile teams within a growing software Company. The Senior Project Coordinator/Scrum Master is responsible for guiding multiple development teams in establishing and accomplishing goals while ensuring compliance with standard process and best practices. They will coordinate work across teams, provide a platform for cross-team collaboration, work closely with Technical Leads and Product Owners on planning, prioritizing, tracking progress, and communicating status. They will help teams to work efficiently and promote a culture of continuous improvement. They will lead development teams in using Agile methodology and scrum practices.

A Day in the Life:

  • Lead scrum teams in using Agile methodology and scrum practices
  • Keep teams organized, focused, following priorities, and executing on plans
  • Lead teams through discussions, including those related to quality, resources, scope, and help drive decision making
  • Help teams achieve higher levels of scrum maturity
  • Act as teams' spokesperson as well as liaison between development teams and Product Management
  • Regularly interact with Technical Leads, Software Engineers, QA Engineers, and Product Management. Interact with other departments when needed
  • Hold team members accountable for completing tasks
  • Remove impediments and coach the teams on removing impediments
  • Assist teams in communicating and demonstrating their work to stakeholders
  • Create a positive environment and team dynamic where teams can work efficiently and effectively
  • Promote a culture of openness, respect, and transparency among team members
  • Lead teams in self-organization and self-improvement
  • Identify areas for improvement and promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Help motivate team members
  • Track teams' progress against established goals
  • Track and report on team metrics
  • Help the Product Owner and development team to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Accurately identify the proper tasks needed to complete assignments
  • Complete tasks quickly and with a high degree of quality and efficiency
  • Work under moderate supervision. Receive guidance but also use independent judgement to accomplish job functions

Role progression:

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Complete our new hire orientation and scrum master onboarding process
  • Meet your team, join daily stand-ups and weekly meetings
  • Shadow scrum masters and begin to understand the software development process at Litera

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Have a good understanding of the software development process and tools
  • Lead, coordinate, and facilitate team meetings
  • Lead teams through discussions, including those related to quality, resources, scope, and help drive decision making
  • Collaborate across teams (locally and internationally)

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Help teams execute on release plans
  • Identify and communicate risks to project plans
  • Use data and metrics to identify areas of improvement and drive positive change
  • Help ensure compliance with standard process and best practices

About You:

  • 3+ years of experience in a scrum master / project management role
  • Experience leading/coaching agile teams
  • Clear understanding of Agile Methodology and Scrum Software Development
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills
  • Communicates effectively across departments
  • Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
  • Ability to work with, lead, and coach multiple teams
  • Ability to create a culture of openness, respect, and continuous improvement
  • Willing to receive feedback and direction
  • Experience using Atlassian suite (Jira and Confluence)
  • Scrum Master certification is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree
