Equilibria (“EQ”) is a high-growth, omni-channel premium CBD platform for women. We are dedicated to restoring balance to our community — physically and mentally — through our high quality CBD products and personalized dosage & delivery support.  We are growing our team with proven, passionate, positive leaders and look forward to hearing from qualified candidates. Corporate Headquarters: River North, Chicago; Bioscience and Farm Operations: Longmont, CO.

Summary

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager for our Product team! At Equilibria, “product” is defined as any physical or digital representation of the brand. It marries technology and design with customer & business/team needs, solving problems that increase company value and improve efficiency. As a company where physical goods are sold in tandem with a service (consultations with a Dosage Specialist are included with purchase), “product” touches deep into the human element of respectfully “holding space” for our customers, while simultaneously keeping this service offering efficient and supported by technology + automation.

“Product” also involves innovation, specifically targeting customer problems/desires that will further drive company growth and (when applicable) add proprietary intellectual property to the EQ portfolio. We innovate with the cannabis plant/process itself as well as delivery methods/modalities, and we have a lot up our sleeve for 2020!

Product touches every aspect of EQ’s ability to succeed, and a technical project manager is needed as the grease in the gears! The right PM for us has experience managing digital/software deliverables, but is also excited about cross-functional knowledge sharing and collaboration… and physical product (IoT, consumer goods, etc.) experience is a plus. This is a fast-paced environment in an industry (cannabis) zeitgeist, so thinking on your feet while being a team player is an absolute must.

Responsibilities

  • Stay on top of all scopes of production work (design, engineering, etc.) as defined by CIO, making sure intra-team scope creep does not occur!

  • Create tasks within scopes when necessary. Monitor task development and delivery/ship dates using Slack and Asana. QA digital deliverables against scope.

  • Maintain a timeline of product across team and their ship dates, tracking dependencies from other departments that could delay us, or cause us to block them.

  • Coordinate production handoff when Ops or other teams cannot complete a task (ie. ordering new mailers that our team designed) without us as their dependency.

  • Push back with clear logic, when scope creep, priority creep, or resource double-booking rears its head.

  • Maintain a calendar of estimated availability for all production contractors (developers, designers, etc.) to prevent double-booking + unreasonable ship dates.

  • Manage CIO’s birds-eye view timeline for innovation efforts + new physical product launches against near-term product (mostly digital) goals.

  • Monitor “wishlist” from team of backlog + icebox items, in case their priority or relevance changes, making sure internal tool scopes are not neglected in favor of customer scopes.

  • Light management of physical goods contractors/vendors, involvement TBD based on experience.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years experience in technical (software/digital) project management

  • Positive attitude, even if deadlines looming

  • Passion for women’s healthcare/wellbeing/our mission

  • Cross-functional experience a plus

  • Physical goods experience a plus

  • Additional design or engineering skills a plus

Expectations

This position reports to and collaborates directly with our Chief Innovation Officer (CIO), who is also a co-founder and overseeing engineering/technology, product, and design. Your role would be as her right hand, organized and keeping timelines on track.

Our stack is currently Wordpress/Woocommerce + many careful customizations (30-50hrs of design+dev work a week on new features, bug fixes, and improvements.) We are flexible about the PM style/methodology you wish to use, and we are eager to hear your thoughts. Currently, we use Asana, Slack, and Gsuite to manage both product and project progress, with a focus on being iterative when at all possible.

This job is on-site with remote flexibility when necessary.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Equilibria will contribute toward medical insurance, for which we offer multiple options of coverage and premium. We also give every employee a monthly CBD allowance, along with other perks. Additional benefits coming in 2020!
