Simpler Media Group, publisher of the industry leading CMSWire.com online magazine and organizer of the DX Summit and Digital Workplace Experience conferences, is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and detail oriented Account Manager to join our media and events sales team and be part of our dynamic media and events company.

This is a full-time, remote (telecommute) position located in the mid-West with a preference for the Chicago metro area.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This a great opportunity for a go-getter to grow her or his B2B digital media, content services and conference sponsorship sales and operations prowess.

We are the top publication in our market, covering the digital customer experience, digital workplace and enterprise information management space. Our annual conferences (www.dxsummit.com; www.dwexperience.com), taking place in Chicago, gather about 500 of the top digital experience and digital workplace professionals.

Our client base is comprised of the top- and mid-tier enterprise software leaders, including Adobe, Microsoft, Marketo, IBM, OpenText, Oracle, SAP and hundreds of others in this multi-billion dollar industry.

You will work closely with and report to the EVP of Business Development and be part of a collaborative 5 person sales team.

This role requires a dynamic problem solver with a strong customer focus rooted in operational excellence, along with a clear understanding and ability to convey the value of digital marketing and live event programs.

The successful candidate is high energy, detail-oriented, self motivated and organized. You can work independently and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely, both in pursuing and serving the accounts you generate.

You have a passion for learning new skills and technologies while working proactively to increase corporate efficiencies by leveraging systems and processes in pursuit of new business. You have a strong desire to understand key market dynamics, client goals and objectives, and how to help marketers succeed in this highly competitive industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage inbound media and events sales requests
  • New account identification, targeting, prospecting and development
  • Existing target account development
  • Weekly and monthly sales reporting
  • CRM (SFDC) maintenance and reporting tasks
  • Sales outreach program development, in collaboration with the team
  • Meetings with clients, as required
  • Travel to industry events in the United States, as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of professional work experience in relevant fields
  • 2+ years B2B media and/or event sponsorship sales or related enterprise sales experience
  • Proven record of sales development and revenue assignment success
  • Excellent written and verbal, phone, face-to-face and networking communication skills
  • Strong customer focused skills to uncover needs and potential marketing opportunities
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with excellent problem solving capabilities
  • A high level of digital literacy, including Salesforce, G Suite, Marketo, Slack and related modern digital sales tools
  • A background in digital marketing and the martech ecosystem a plus
