Title: Admissions Specialist

Reports to: Manager of Recruitment and Admissions

We have two businesses that create transitional jobs and two program platforms that connect people to networks, skills, and competitive market jobs.

As a member of the Recruitment Team, an Admissions Specialist is responsible for sourcing quality participants for the entire enterprise. This includes conducting community outreach to engage new and established referral partners as well as curating a participant’s journey through the first week of their Cara experience. An emphasis is placed on developing referral partnerships as these relationships lead to a strong pipeline of prospective participants. This role is critical to the organization as the Admissions Specialist is engaging prospective participants while both assessing and instilling motivation in them. We operate within a team structure to recruit and transition individuals into the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold Cara’s mission and values
  • Manage a portfolio of established referral partner accounts
  • Identify and develop relationships with new referral partners
  • Work closely with Placement Team to strategically source for hiring trends while considering both the skills and barriers of prospective candidates
  • Conduct telephone screenings and face-to-face interviews with prospective participants to determine eligibility
  • Recruit and track individuals for our social enterprise businesses and certain grant requirements
  • Meet or surpass established key performance indicator metrics for monthly site visits and engagement expectations
  • Maintain accurate drug testing schedule and update files as results are returned as well as administering drug tests when necessary
  • Submit requests for criminal background searches and update files as results are returned
  • Update and maintain accurate electronic participant files
  • Maintain an accurate daily schedule of recruitment interviews and site visits
  • Represent Cara sand Cleanslate at relevant community engagements for brand awareness
  • Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need
  • Communicate with managers and colleagues regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new participant leads.
  • Maintain regular contact with possible future participants
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or at least 3 years of professional experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in sales or business preferred.
  • Demonstrated work history of resourcefulness, organization and problem solving.
  • High energy and ability to engage others towards a common goal.
  • Strong work ethic and business acumen with ability to excel in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or experience using a CRM platform.
  • Experience working in for-profit sector.
  • Experience working with an economically-disadvantaged populations, ideally in a coaching capacity.
