Role Description:

We are looking to expand our Chicago team, and hire a leader in operations that will be based out of our Cicero, IL Fulfillment Center. As ShipBob's Area Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and developing a team of associates in our fulfillment center. You'll be heavily involved in driving process improvement, maintaining a safe work environment, and tracking performance/employee engagement. This role will report directly to the site's Operations Manager, and will oversee all associates and leads.

Your Responsibilities:

Review the weekly work forecasts and determine productivity requirements to produce during the day to meet the overall building objectives.

Partner with other new Area Managers to balance labor ensuring that we are operating a balanced and efficient shift while meeting all of your goals.

Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.

Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools

Lead a team of warehouse associates to fulfill the the ShipBob mission of assisting our clients in growing their online success by delighting their customers, on a daily basis.

Responsible for ensuring teams are properly trained, and that their needs are addressed so they can focus on their jobs.

Experience/Skills Required:

• 1-2 years of leadership experience
• Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, General Management or a related field, preferred
• Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
• Basic understanding of Lean and Six Sigma

Compensation:

• $40,000-$55,000

Hours/Schedule:

• 40-50 hrs/week
• 4-5 days/week, depending on time of year
