At NextCapital, our Business Development Managers channel our market expertise, platform capabilities, company resources to win new prospective partnerships with Recordkeepers, Asset Managers and Advisors. We use a consultative sales process to help our prospective partners solve their greatest strategic challenges with NextCapital solutions, and make customers for life who become our best channel for growth through references and expansion.

JOIN OUR TEAM

We are searching for the perfect person to join NextCapital’s Business Development team The. NextCapital Business Development team identifies and wins enterprise opportunities with new and existing partners. We’re disrupting a market, which means we need strong individuals who know the market and help NextCapital scale. This person must be a team player and problem solver, with the ability to manage and coordinate internal NextCapital Area Teams and help to develop relationships with external stakeholders.

Success will be measured by:

  • Achieving sales targets
  • Supporting and implementing efficient and repeatable processes to accelerate the sales cycle
  • Growing booked revenue, AUM and new business opportunities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Prospecting Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities and nurture a robust pipeline of optimal prospects through the sales cycle
  • Cultivate trusting relationships
  • Lead prospecting efforts through due diligence, presentations, and proposals
  • Partner with marketing to build campaigns to educate prospects and open doors for communication
  • Educate prospects about NextCapital solutions
  • Deliver winning proposals and RFP responses and masterfully negotiate and renegotiate contracts / pricing
  • Efficiently mobilize and deliver all of NextCapital’s available resources & solutions
  • Work in tandem with Customer Success to onboard new partners with a focus on maximizing adoption
  • Keep up-to-date knowledge of the industry, competition, and NextCapital’s positioning in the marketplace
  • Deliver thought leadership and best practices
  • Represent the company at industry and company sponsored events
  • Incorporate value added services / practice management

Internal Responsibilities:

  • Document all activities, customer interactions, and key data points in Salesforce and other relevant systems
  • Develop business cases with detailed cost & revenue forecast for all new opportunities
  • Collaborate with and connect the dots across various departments at NextCapital
  • Organize and manage partner-facing documentation
  • Participate in strategic planning and product development
  • Inform delivery prioritization based on partner readiness, business opportunity, and platform strategy alignment
  • Pursue opportunities for professional growth in Business Development, Partner Success

Requirements

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • You have a successful track record of enterprise level business development and are skilled at consultative-based selling into multiple areas of an organization
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Management
  • You have at least 3 years' experience in a relationship management or business development role within a technology-focused financial services organization
  • You understand the value chain of the Defined Contribution, retail wealth management, and/or asset management marketplace
  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and can multitask and prioritize efficiently
  • You understand contract structures and are comfortable managing negotiations with large enterprise firms
  • You are able to partner closely with senior members of the sales team and executives of NextCapital
  • You have the capability to influence key decision makers during the sales process
  • You have excellent communication and social skills
