Northcutt.com is a boutique, enterprise SEO agency that grows e-commerce and cloud service brands.  

We're seeking a full-time, salary Business Development Manager with (some) pre-existing SEO chops (and ready to grow in this area).  We need somebody that's capable of taking a creative, consultative approach towards closing deals by listening, analyzing, and then creating custom SEO plans.  Also, pursuing, deepening, and streamlining relationships with various types of agency partner. And, when time remains, pursuing genuine, honest, spam-free demand generation through networking and being generous with your knowledge.

The Job

  • We're not going to lie: our staff is only 10 deep.  We need somebody that can grow with us as we outgrow our awkward stage.  This means wearing 3 hats.
  • 1. Account Executive: 2-3 days/week of initial consultations, custom plans, pitches, and follow-ups on 15-20 incoming qualified leads per month.  
  • 2. Partner Manager:  1 day per week of identifying partnerships, deepening their ability to work with us, streamlining our team's ability to work with them, and acting as their liaison.
  • 3. Business Development: 1-2 days/week of attending (or speaking at) tradeshows, creating (and sharing) SEO audit/teardown screencasts, and/or other authentic, quality-over-quantity, generosity-driven demand generation.   
  • Overall, we need somebody to take the reigns and develop a so-far neglected department in our agency dubbed "growth".

The Skills

  • 2+ years experience with creating SEO and/or digital marketing pitches.
  • A passion for problem-solving and inventing custom SEO strategies for well-established businesses. 
  • A genuine excitement and enjoyment from getting to know entrepreneurs and their dreams.
  • A fundamental understanding of e-commerce and cloud service offerings.  
  • A self-driven approach to sales, follow-ups, and tracking/optimizing success.
  • Rock-solid communication (both written and verbal).
  • It helps to be likable, honest, and a constant learner.
