Strategic Systems International (SSI) is a fast-growing Advanced Analytics and Software Engineering firm that partners with tech companies to help them launch and scale their products. The company was launched in 1991 by alumni of University of Chicago and Northwestern has grown to 200 employees with presence in US, Europe and Asia. We architect and build software platforms and applications for disruptive tech companies and Fortune 500s across various sectors including Big Data & Analytics, FinTech, HealthTech, Internet of Things (IoT), and Supply Chain. We are engineering partners for various high visibility fast growing tech startups in the Chicago area.

We are a team of data scientists, architects, engineers, and client engagement professionals looking for a motivated business development professional who will work closely with senior management and will have unlimited opportunity to grow with the company. This opportunity offers a unique blend of working in business development and doing consultative work with tech companies.

You are expected to manage the sales cycle with a very consultative approach that includes articulating our value add, engagement model, and showcasing our expertise. You are also expected to collaborate with an ecosystem of channel partners and drive business through them.

Role

  • Manage the sales cycles with support from internal teams
  • Collaborate with the business development and marketing team to develop the sales funnel and execute on the sales activities
  • Spend significant time at tech events and incubators for networking and building presence for the company
  • Prepare and tailor messaging for prospective clients

  • Research and build "cold accounts" in coordination with sales operations team
  • Identify opportunities by expanding business through discovery and effective consultative sales process
  • Advise on inbound and outbound lead generation activities and strategies
  • Navigate through companies to build numerous relationships with key buyers

  • Interact with tech organizations and incubators/ accelerators
  • Collaborate with strategic and channel partners
  • Support workshops and webinars in collaboration with technology and marketing teams
  • Interact with the marketing team for original content ideas

Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of sales or business development experience
  • Experience selling custom software development, digital marketing or B2B SaaS applications
  • Effectively understand the clients problems/ needs and conceptualize how the value of our services can help address that need
  • Ability to manage an entire sales cycle including needs analysis & proposal development with input from others in the company
  • Understand and/or ability to learn about software development processes, technologies, architectures, and practices
  • Superior and highly effective client interface skills
  • Ability to create presentations, proposals and SOWs
  • Written communication skills include: formal documentation, statements of work, proposals, sources sought and request for information responses, white papers, case studies
  • Direct and work with lead generation team, including the metrics and campaigns
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
