About Scout

Scout is the sourcing and supplier engagement platform trusted by procurement teams to streamline their process, manage a unified pipeline of projects, and collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers. Scout’s powerful platform drives profitability and makes enterprise commerce faster, less risky, and more transparent, giving CPOs the tools they need to transform their organizations.

Over 250 global brands trust Scout to provide greater visibility across stakeholders and suppliers, centralize core processes, measure effectiveness, and make procurement teams crazy successful by delivering better business outcomes. Our simple, effective interface enables companies to streamline supplier selection, manage vendors, centralize data, and make more informed purchasing decisions, faster.

Growing at a fast yet measured pace, Scout is dominating the Strategic Sourcing market of the enterprise Procurement software landscape. Our sales team is adding high-performing A-players with a thirst for growth and the desire to sell into any/every industry and vertical. No single company owns the start of the relationship between enterprise customers and their suppliers, a point where high impact buying decisions are made every day. This is Scout’s focus, and we are well-positioned when enterprises move to automate their sourcing and procurement workflows. In our market, customers are either moving from a manual process or have legacy applications they are unhappy with and don’t use.

We are looking to add a Director of Business Development in our Chicago office, reporting to our Chief Revenue Officer, to keep our top of funnel full, grow the Business Development team in new locations, and coach our team of BDR’s on how to successfully engage prospects.

What you will do:

  • Grow our Business Development team from a local to national group, and expand it into new cities where we will be opening offices in 2019
  • Develop training tools and documentation in support of training our BD team in best practices and new techniques
  • Attain, and exceed, monthly, quarterly, and annual new business targets
  • Identify top performers and coach them towards their next role
  • Manage the day-to-day activities and productivity of the inside sales team to ensure all quotas, performance targets, and management objectives are met
  • Work with marketing and sales ops to ensure thorough follow up of inbound leads
  • Monitor and refine processes, metrics, and tools to maximize success on the BDR team
  • Maximize and reinforce collaborative efforts and best practices between Business/Sales Development, Marketing, Sales, and Sales Operations teams
  • Manage sales development execution and oversight, and KPI management including daily metrics, forecasting, territory development, and pipeline management
  • Collaborate with marketing to drive new business through inbound demand generation

About you:

  • 5+ years overall sales experience with at least 4+ years of experience working in a fast-paced technology/SaaS company
