About The Role

The Director Sales Operations (DSO) manages support functions essential to Salesforce productivity. These include planning, reporting, sales process optimization, sales job design, sales training, sales program implementation, quota setting and management, sales compensation design and administration, and recruiting and selection of sales force talent.
 
The Director of Sales Operations also:

  • Drives and coordinates sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the sales organization. Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization s planning efforts. As needed, coordinates planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within the firm.
  • Provides counsel to the Executive Vice President Sales & Account Management, in implementing sales organization objectives that appropriately reflect the firm’s business goals.
  • Ensures sales reports and other internal intelligence is provided to the sales organization in a timely manner.  Develops new reporting tools as needed.  Coordinates with sales leadership to lead efficient and accurate sales force reporting initiatives.
  • Supports the equitable assignment of sales force quotas and ensures quotas are optimally allocated to all sales channels and resources.
  • Works to ensure all sales organization objectives are assigned in a timely fashion.
  • Partners with sales leadership to identify opportunities for sales process improvement.  Facilitates successful implementation of new programs through the sales organization by ensuring a well-defined, efficient sales process is in place.  Fosters an organization of continuous improvement.
  • Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the sales organization. Recommends revisions to existing reports, or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
  • Implements enabling technologies, including CRM, to field sales teams. Monitors the assigned sales organizations compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data. Works closely with sales management to optimize the effectiveness of the firm’s technology investments.
  • Works closely with senior sales leadership to define the optimal performance measurements and performance management programs required to ensure sales organization success.  Aligns reporting, training, and incentive programs with these performance management priorities.
  • Works closely with sales leadership, to establish a sales force onboarding and training plans focused on developing and reinforcing critical sales competencies.
  • Oversees the delivery of field and HQ training to sales and sales support personnel.
  • Provides input to sales leadership in the development and administration of sales incentive compensation plans and programs.
  • Works with Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources, to provide assistance with sales incentive compensation administration on an as-needed basis, or when required to arbitrate or clarify the application of sales compensation program policies and procedures.
  • Represents sales in directing and supporting the consistent implementation of company initiatives.
  • Builds peer support and strong cross-functional internal-company relationships with other key management personnel.

  • Be responsible for the efficient allocation of technology, support, and training resources impacting the sales organization.
  • Be accountable for accurate and on-time reporting essential for sales organization effectiveness
  • Contribute to the achievement of strategic objectives defined by sales management.

What We're Looking For

  • Four-year college degrees from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five years in sales operations, business planning, or sales support management role in a business-to-business SaaS sales environment
  • Experience successfully managing analytically rigorous corporate initiatives
  • PC and Salesforce CRM proficiency (SFDC certified admin preferred)
  • Sales Management experience is a plus
